"Fuck" Katya exclaimed in terror as numerous flashlights from a distance bared upon them. They have been spotted. Katya tries to run but with Lara's injuries and with her being carried, they were moving at a jogging speed as the trucks in the distance that were looking for them started to give pursuit. Katya's heart was pounding loud enough to drown her own thoughts, she didn't know what to do, there was no place to hide and they were surely outgunned and outmanned.
Lara's voice however cut through her overwhelming heardbeat as Lara said in a dazed state "leave me, just go". Katya however didn't answered except for just a look of worry towards Lara and tightened her grip on Lara as they keep trying to run as fast as they can and trucks were closing the distance.
Now they were being fired upon as bullets kicked the sand around them and wizzed past around them. Katya had no choice but to get into a ditch that was made by natual rocks surrounding it and she dragged Lara in. After she sat down Lara, she was reminded of the pistole she was clutching in her hand, they had 10 bullets and that was it. Lara suddenly screamed out "Just Go!" which shook Katya to her core but she just couldn't do it. She started readying to defend their position and she looked over the rocks, about 5 trucks, 14 men surrounded their position with all kinds of guns trained on their position. She would be dead by the time she get her pistole over the rock to fire on them. She didn't feared death but, she looked back at Lara, she cannot bear to even imagine letting go of her. Even IF they win the fight, she would be dead before they reach back to base.
