There is no better place to start than at the beginning right? If were doing this throwback retrospective we might as well start with the first ever photo, or my first ever photo shoot with THE Shaun Simpson!

The "too long didn't read" of the situation is that i was working construction for my father and because i didn't have my drivers licence i had to go in every morning with him. The issue was that he liked going to the gym before work and that meant that i had to start going to the gym 6 days a week. All that gym bull shit eventually started to pay off and I wanted to find a photographer to permanently capture my accomplishments. I knew i need someone male friendly and went on the search! Lucky for me i found an add for someone named Shaun who was looking for male models and after some scheduling stuff we were finally able to make it happen! We hit it off right away and set up another shoot pretty quickly. The rest, as they say, is history.

A little fun fact about this shoot is that i had no legs and no ass so i really wanted to keep the loose pants on. I hadn't heard about leg day at this point so I was just gonna keep them hidden. (spoiler though, they eventually came off)

Love that you shared these and the story to go with them.

Does your dad have this same body type? 6 days a week at the gym. Wow.

The lighting and tone for these is absolutely remarkable. That last shot looks like a dancer or athlete caught mid action. You and Shaun are masters of setting a mood.

Not at all he was always a cardio guy. But yeah, we worked 6 days a week and only took Sunday off

I remember that little punk.

I like how you so casually say "All that gym bull shit eventually started to pay off", as though just anyone could end up looking like you. If only!! 😅

These are aesthetically great shots, Mike. Also, it's hard to believe you had "no ass" at one time
