Because it's DC, they self sabotage on the daily since for some reason they adapt the Japanese anime protagonist rhetoric of "if x does y, then me doing z makes me just as bad as them!" which is dumb af but too many fics seem to subscribe to that logic.

Why couldn't Harry just sense their minds instead of using a code word he read Lionel's mind last chapter also he could have just memory wiped Lionel either way I am just glad to have an update I am really liking this story.

Hope Harry mentions that Clark is susceptible to magic via explaining how he Stunned Lionel while the elder Luthor was running around in Clark's body...early warning about that particular weakness wouldn't go amiss.
