I took YEARS to watch this season 2.5 because of how much I hate prequels (I was wrong about this one and LOVED it). That means this is only my second watch so I'll be catching a lot of new stuff this time!. My question: how do you feel about prequels and what do you expect from this one after watching the first episode?

Sorry, this is a multi-part question! What do you think of the show’s explanation and setup of how in their version of Georgian England, the Ton came to be integrated and people of color received titles and land? While the showrunners may have already had this concept in place when Bridgerton began, a lot of the details were probably retrofitted after the main series was out in order to explain some of the questions (or concerns) that audiences had. Do you think the show did a good job of setting up this new alternate universe where high society suddenly needs to adjust to integration? What did you think of the not-so-subtle racism on display from the Queen Mother and some of the others towards Charlotte in particular? Since we already have the privilege of knowing what she’s like in the future, which of these experiences from E1 do you think would have been most impactful for her and shaped her into who she is later? (Obviously there’s still more to come!)

Not that it matters much, but she is the Dowager Princess, not the Queen Mother. George's father was never King, so she was never Queen and therefore can't be Queen Mother

Charlie

Omg you’re so right! Thank you. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve rewatched and I don’t know why I thought Queen Mother when clearly she’s not. Thank you for the correction 😊
