Lord Debling makes it clear this episode that he’s not seeking a love match & doesn’t expect to ever fall in love. Knowing Penelope’s dire prospects on the marriage mart (and the fact that she doesn’t know about Colin’s feelings), would you have wanted her to accept Debling’s proposal had he been open to continuing their courtship?

What do you think about Colin & Penelope getting engaged so soon? It’s similar to Daphne & Simon in s1 but very far removed from Kate & Anthony in s2. Personally I think both Colin & Penelope having been open to love since the very start of the show makes it easier for them to get together once they both realised their feelings, but considering there’s 4 episodes to go, where do you think the story is headed?

Foreshadowing moment: colin promised to “ruin” Lady Whistledown at the end of the first episode. He doesn’t know it yet but that’s exactly what he did in that carriage 😂

This is the first time we see Penelope somewhat talk back to her mother and call her out for not being empathetic or concerned for her wellbeing. What do you think the future holds for Penelope’s relationship with her mother?

Just in case you didn’t realise it while watching: Colin interrupting Debling and Penelope’s dance might as well have been him “staking his claim” – it was incredibly improper and definitely sent a message to everyone watching

Penelope looking out the window was a big plot point of this episode, but I think it's worth noting that Colin has been consistently shown looking at the Featherington house before he leaves for his travels in S1 and 2, so I think you're right that those feelings were always there subconsciously, he just wasn't aware of them. Given how suddenly everything has changed, how do you think the rest of the Bridgertons (for instance, Anthony - who was very against the sudden engagement to Marina - and Eloise) are going to react? Also, there's a change to the title sequence next episode, so I would consider watching it.
