Not a question, but just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed re watching my absolute FAV series’ with you (TVD and TO), can’t believe it’s come to an end! But thank you for sharing this journey with us through the years! It’s been so fun to see your perspectives on such a great show <3

What do you think happens to Rebekah's sire line when she becomes human?

some similar questions to what i asked at tvd finale: - which would you say has been your favourite of the 5 seasons? - who has been your favourite character in each of the seasons? - who is your favourite couple or maybe top 3 couples? - who has been your favourite platonic relationships or top 3 platonic relationships? - who do you think had the best arc/development as a character over the entirety of the show?

there's been major debate about the ending of the originals and whether or not both elijah and klaus needed to die, similarly with stefan. i personally think that this is people's pain talking and all of their deaths while sad have been necessary and pivotal to their characters. obviously klaus' death highlights his character arc from an extremely selfish man who's always felt alone to a man willing to die for his family. a parallel i really appreciate is in tvd s4 rebekah says "no one will sit around a table and tell stories about a man who couldn't love" in contrast to the dinner scene. similarly i think elijah's death reflects the man who he has always been despite the fact this season he has become a bit lost and distant to the noble elijah we've always known, very similar to stefan's death. i wanted to know your thoughts on both elijah and klaus' arcs as a whole as well as all the characters of the show and if you think their endings provide justice to their characters

I really appreciate the pace of this finale. In TVD so much of the last episode is about plot and trying to save mystic falls and everyone that only the last little bit tries to wrap up the character stories. In TO, while there’s always the underlying issues of getting rid of the hollow, the characters time together is more of the focus and therefore we get to spend more time saying goodbye to them. Did you notice this? Do you have a preference? I do think both shows did such a nice job coming full circle and referencing the pilot episodes

How did the finale compare to the vampire diaries finale? This one personally broke me a lot more than the tvd finale. I just felt a strong connection to the family. I wish we had longer with hope and klaus even though i understand why the writers did it. How do you feel about Elijah not telling klaus till the last minute that he was going to die with him? Thoughts on.. Freya and keelin having a baby with the help of Vincent? Marcel and Rebekah living a human life together? How do you think hope will deal with losing both her parents in legacies? ( I haven’t brought myself to watch it yet but I would love to watch it along with you) Overall, it’s been amazing to rewatch my favourite show ever with you. Watching you react to season 5 even though I’ve had my issues with it. The way you spoke about it really helped me see it differently because this season really broke me! Thankyou! Love the reactions 🫶

There’s been a lot of debate about whether or not Klaus’s final sacrifice “redeems” him as a person, where would you say you lie on the scale from not redeemed to redeemed? Personally, I think the purpose of the show was not to redeem Klaus as a person but to redeem him in the eyes of his family, that is, earning his family’s love and trust and I think the show did that successfully bc while he can’t be forgiven for his crimes against strangers, he did earn the forgiveness of his family and made the ultimate sacrifice for his daughter.

How do you feel about Elijah’s choice to join Klaus in death? There’s obviously the fact that in doing so he has killed his entire sire line, and that Hope has just lost another family member unnecessarily. But I also get the sense that after Hayley’s death, Elijah had nothing to live for other than Klaus, so with Klaus dying, he had no purpose. Rebekah would be gone in about 140 years and he’d truly have nothing. I feel a purposeless Original is almost a dangerous thing to allow to roam the earth for eternity, not to mention deeply tragic for Elijah.

Marcel and Klaus have been one of my favourite relationships to follow on this show, and this haven’t quite been the same between them since s3 – how do you feel about where they left off before Klaus’s death? Are you happy with the place they were in?

DrowsyCody

Elijah’s sire line died when the Hollow killed him last season.

Megan

Also fun fact. The dinner scene with the family at the end wasn’t scripted they just told them to talk about the years of them filming and put music over it. Only just learned that now I’m sad again 😂

Kristin

I know by the time you see this comment I will already know… but I’m so excited to see your reaction to the appearance of Cami. Even as a hallucination, did you enjoy seeing her again as the angel on Klaus’s shoulder?

Will you be reacting to Legacies after this one? People critique it a lot because they judge the show based on the two prior ones but you have to watch it with an open mind and keeping it separate from the others. I personally LOVED Legacies.

Now that the show is over and you have some hindsight, could you describe each of the main characters with one word? Or, better yet, could you name the quality or feeling each of them has left you with? I know you'll have a lot of questions for the finale, so I suggested one word-answers to be quicker but you can explain however you prefer, of course. Here's a list to speed things up a bit: Klaus, Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, Freya, Vincent, Hayley, Hope, Marcel, maybe Cami and Josh
