In the Regency era, the custom was to formally address the firstborn unmarried daughter of a family as Miss [surname], then all subsequent daughters as Miss [first name]. So when Lady Penwood introduced her two daughters to Violet, she introduced them as Miss Rosamund Li (eldest) and Miss Posy (younger). They are her two biological children

quick heads up - posy and rosamund are not daughters of the earl - they're li's so the viscount li lady penwood was married to before is their dad. lady penwood (araminta) is their biological mother - she just very heavily favours rosamund over posy, which i don't think is a spoiler to say, haha. they're both referred to as 'miss' rather than 'lady' as you're only a lady if you're the daughter of a duke, marquess, or earl, or you marry a titled gentleman (quick reminder in terms of heirarchy - an earl is above a viscount but below a duke, so lady penwood actually married up from her previous husband) don't quote me on any of this, i very quickly looked it up just now so i could be wrong lol. in terms of other new characters, we have irma (the penwood's cook) and alfie (their footman) are who are sophie's friends at penwood house.

ad intro - yeah, they have changed the long sequence every season now, actually - not everything, the general vibe stays and some parts are the same, but some things are specifically foreshadowing things that will happen over the course of the season!

Hyacinth is meant to be 13-ish in this season. Waaaaaaay too young to be out in society, no matter how much she wants to be.
