‚The only down of shows like this that it f*cking hurts to be single.‘ that made me laugh, man, I so feel you. Regarding Imogen.. idk I’m not a particular fan of her approach either BUT funnily, I see a lot of similarities between her and Nick, which gives them a great base for a friendship in my opinion. Both seem unhappy in this friend group, both deal with the pressure of the others to fit in and meet their expectations. I think her crush on Nick isn’t even really there tbh, she likes him and being around him, maybe she thinks it’s a proper crush but it clearly isn’t. They know each other for ages which is probably the reason she feels she can be touchy all the time bc let’s be honest. If you have a real crush on somebody the last thing you do is grabbing somebody’s hair etc.. you’re way more subtle and shy about stuff, right? Even after the game it seems like she wanted to be supportive but then got pressurised by the others to ask him out. Only the girls school cafeteria scene was very awkward.. idk I still like her character and hope she can be a good friend for Nick and get her own interesting plot line some point. I think, even if their characters are very different, her actions result from insecurity, fears and the urge to fit in somewhere, like for Nick or even Tao. Apart from Harry, so is an absolute twat, I find it really hard to judge any of Alice’s characters tbh. She’s just doing a f*cking good job.

Btw, have you ever commented on the rainbow reflections we get throughout the season? In episode four, for example, during the rain scene

About episode 5, I just want to say how much I love conflicts are solved in this show. Very healthy and authentic. There’s a problem, and relatively shortly after gets solved by COMMUNICATION and understanding. I mean Nick’s situation was very relatable and not easy but he’s honest with Charlie and explains himself and the situation to him getting nothing but understanding from the other side which is so beautiful to see and an important part of Nick’s journey to himself. Alice manages to keep this show positive and uplifting while addressing serious issues which is what makes this show so damn good. Also, shout out to Olivia for being such a good mum. Her face after ‚well, her dog died‘ is just hilarious.

I agree I love the communication and problem solving, it is was less frustrating than in so many other shows and it just shows that the show doesn't need unnecessary long drama.. and it shows people how easy it can be to get misunderstandings and conflicts out of the way by simply talking about them

Definitely agree about the show modeling healthy communication. I think that’s so so important and it shows young people that yes, there will be conflicts and miscommunication in your life, but you just need to TALK it through. With regards to this episode specifically, I know a lot of people really hate on Tao for his conversation with Charlie in the bathroom and for his general treatment towards Nick. I don’t know if the show plans to follow the graphic novels with this particular plot point, but the reason Charlie was hesitant to tell Tao to begin with was because Tao was the reason Charlie got outed in the first place, albeit unintentionally. He was overheard talking to the book’s Isaac equivalent in the hallway about how happy he was that Charlie came out to them, and some other students overheard. So naturally word spread like wildfire. And Tao didn’t even realize he was the reason. But he did remember how badly Charlie was bullied afterwards, and he was the one who looked after him during that time. So he’s very very protective over Charlie and doesn’t want to see him go through that kind of pain again. I‘ve appreciated how generous you’ve been about Tao’s protective behavior thus far, even though it can get annoying at times. It’s nice to know that Charlie has someone looking out for him like that, and I think Nick realizes it and appreciates it, since he can’t stand up for Charlie outwardly the way he’d like to just yet.
