Harry dear you are so clever. In regard the previous episode, the scene in in Elena’s bedroom where Damon make a puzzled face at Elena describing Rebekah, it is something to keep in mind for the future. In regard of this episode, Stefan is more and more detached, but that doesn’t make him less caring for his brother. There is something fundamentally imbedded in the subconscious of the two brothers that make them no matter what instinctively care for each other. Stefan instinct is what made him turn Damon in the first place, the terror of facing eternity alone, the fear of facing his dark side without nobody that can really care enough for him to bring him back, and he knows that Damon no matter what they are going through would never let him die. Damon on the other side has different motivations that are rooted in the fact that he is the big brother and that didn’t have a mother since they were very young and had a terrible father. So Damon big brother protective instinct comes out whenever he see Stef in serious trouble. When Stefan sabotage his plan to kill Klaus, his feelings where not much of rage as much a deep sadness and disappointment for Stefan, as far as he knows, choosing Klaus over him. Elena is coming to a realisation that Stefan is not the person she thought he was and at the same time she is realising that Damon is very much someone she can count on, and not only, he never lied to her about himself, he isn’t a yes man, he is his own person and she likes that, she likes that they are a team on equal terms. And if he does something that he hasn’t discuss with her first, she learned that his motivations are fundamentally good, that is why now she trust him implicitly without any doubt. She found someone that has her same characteristics to team up, someone as impulsive, reckless, bossy but passionate and loving about the people he cares as she is. Is the second time she admits she loved Damon too. She doesn’t have ulterior motive now that interfere with her plan to lie about it. There is anyway a bond between the three of them that is like the bond between people that shared fundamental part of life and that are eternal, like Rebekah for her brothers. Regarding the coffins, Elijah said that Klaus is not his only brother, he has other siblings. Also, Rebekah in her account of what happen after her mother died, she mentioned that the members of her family left, and she remain with Klaus to bury their mother. So the coffins you saw is safe to say that are others originals family members.

Nina is incredible, Not only she plays Elena and Katherine in a way that you completely forget they are the same actress, but she plays Katherine imitating Elena, in a way that viewers, by paying attention, could detect as you did that it might not be Elena. Mind blowing.

Again TVD is one of the best shows ever because there is no time wasted; I mean usually these kind of scenarios are dragged but in this show things are delivered and it has the right amount of impact. The trust between Damon & Elena has immensely grown and the reason behind this growth are the numerous efforts of Damon to win her trust back without changing or pretending to be someone else. After Season 2 episode 1, it would be almost impossible to think Elena would ever able to trust Damon but today we saw how she almost trusts him blindly to do the right thing by her. She didn't question his plan because from the past she has learnt to trust him and not judge him. It's also because Elena herself is being caught in situations where she no longer can stand outside the box and simply judge. Now, she is the one who is stabbing people in the back because she wants to protect her own people. Elena Gilbert is learning to see the world differently slowly and understanding things aren't black and white and not always can you say this is right and this is wrong. Moving on to Katherine and her conversation with Stefan; personally it's one of my most favourite scenes of hers. I think the reason I find her character to be interesting is because she isn't ashamed of being herself. She knows that she has to be her no.1 priority but today she hasn't only acted to save someone else but also admitted to her letting her humanity in at times. Now for me this conversation confirmed to me what I had been thinking since the beginning of Season 2; Katherine has been afraid to admit her love to Damon because it will consume her and she won't allow herself to be drowned for her own sake. I won't ever believe that Katherine didn't love Damon back in the day because she did but she kept herself distracted too so she didn't get caught up with him. I know Katherine confessed to being in love with both the brothers which again isn't wrong because her definition is own curated version. But today she stopped herself from going ahead and taking Klaus down only after Klaus threatened to kill Damon. She could have ahead with the plan and Stefan and her would have been free after Mikael dealt with Klaus but she couldn't do that and she admitted to letting her humanity. SO what does that mean? Damon means so much to her that she let her humanity in for him to be alive? This was all about Damon, not Stefan. Katherine put Damon before Stefan and herself. Afterwards, when Katherine said her humanity slips out every now and then; it was Damon that made her humanity come out. Has Stefan ever made her humanity slip out? Not that I’ve seen. Not when she was feeding on him in the past. Not all the times she stabbed him or threw him in the bushes as she went on her merry way. Or all the times she’s played around with his head. The only one who has gotten Katherine’s humanity to slip out has been Damon. I honestly find Katherine and Damon's relationship extremely interesting to analyze at times because no matter what and how messed up it is, they always will have this connect. He himself ended the phone call with her by asking her to take care herself. Like they say I guess sometimes the one you have loved crazily in the past will always mean something to you no matter what; you might not be in love with them but you still love them. Like @Patpet said, Stefan cared just enough to save his brother from dying because he wouldn't ever be okay with not having his elder brother around him. At the end of the day he is the younger brother and Damon for him was the parent figure when they were human so he couldn't let him die when Damon had refused to complete the transformation and even today he couldn't stop himself despite his humanity switch being off. He fought through it for his brother and that is the love story of these two. No matter how much they go through; they're family and they would always have each other's back. But now he has been reminded that Klaus did something extremely horrible to him by forcing him to turn off his humanity; so he is mad which I'm excited to see because although Stefan didn't want to feel all the emotions rushing in, he has allowed rage to touch him. Damon in this episode as always was trying to everyone's saviour. He had planned almost everything that could wrong including taking Stefan out of it using Mikael's help but the reason he was upset about the plan failure was thinking that he had lost his brother forever and he wasn't going to come back. At the end of the day he wanted Klaus to be out of Mystic falls because he wanted his brother to be back and be free from the compulsion; so his anger was understandable and Elena being there to comfort him was exactly what he needed in the moment. I think at this point Elena has fully understood that she has power over him and she can use this power in the best way by grounding him in moments of helplessness, anger and so on. In fact both of them bring out the side in the other that they try so hard to hide. Elena doesn't have to the one doing all the right things in front of Damon because she doesn't fear him judging her as compared to her friends including Stefan and he isn't scared to be vulnerable in front of her because he knows she isn't going use it against him. It's simply beautiful!

Harry, I love how you notice the two mirrors and two sinks in the bathroom, indicating that it is a couple thing. It is a recurring theme regarding Damon and Elena since season one seeing two items of the same kind in many Delena’s scenes. The episodes I can recall now seeing that detail are these episodes = season 1, pilot, and episode 7. Season 3, episodes 1, 3, and 9 so far. To answer your question about the stake that Klaus used against his father can only be used once against an original.

Damon and Stefan's brotherly bond go further than just being siblings. Growing up with a horrible father and without a mother since they were children, it is no surprise that Damon was a parental figure to Stefan since their father was not a loving and supporting person. It is one of the reasons that Damon has such a protective tendency which was consecrated since childhood out of necessity. It's safe to say; that the brothers only had each other for support until Katherine severed their bond, but no matter their animosity, their love for each other prevailed.

A YouTuber said that if we watch TVD backward from season 8 finale to season 1 pilot, the story between the brothers will make sense. It would make it easier to understand the brothers. A friend told me that we experience the story through Elena's eyes, but she is not aware of the whole story between the brothers, but we, as the audience, know more than she does. I agree with Archna that Elena is more pragmatic in season 3, so this season has a different vibe because Elena is aware that between black and white, there are many shades of grey regarding life issues. Archna, I love what you said about Katherine's love for Damon. Damon's loves a force to be reckoned with, and I believe Katherine feared being consumed by his love since it would have destroyed her plans to survive Klaus. The fact that she saved Damon from Klaus when she had waited for the opportunity to kill him for 500 years says a lot about the effect of Damon's love for someone. Bree was bitter and angry when she saw Damon was still trying to get Katherine out of the tomb. Andy was head over heels for Damon, and now Elena trusted Damon indefinitely. How come Elena trusted Damon this way now after everything he had done? Damon didn't let those bad incidents get in the way of pursuing Elena to trust him. This matter of pursuing Elena's trust is essential compared with Stefan, who lets his guilt consume him instead. We must also remember that Elena took Damon's advice in season 1 about cheerleading and locked Stefan in the cellar after his blood lust. I love the interaction between Damon and Elena in Damon’s bathroom. We can see them working in unision and don’t fear to voice out their disagreements. They feel free to be themselves around each other without judgement which they recieve from everyone. I have never seen Elena being at ease with Stefan or act like a everyday couple like she does with Damon. Delena’s chemistry is beautiful.

@Harry dear your TVD page is becoming the most interesting, fun and intellectually stimulating place above all reactors and it's all done to your insightful point of view and your perceptivity. Your reaction inspire so many thought- provoking posts. Keep up with the great work and don't let the party poopers on youtube influence your entusiasm and your clear take on characters and events.

Harry, I agree with PatPet; you are very perceptive and intuitive. Your page is a beautiful light among all the darkness surrounding TVD because of immature fans. Your page is genuinely a treasure among the rest reactors out there.
