First of all, love your reactions. Came across your youtube channel recently and REFUSE to wait there for the reactions so here we are lol. As for my question, how valid do you think Tao’s feelings are in regards to not being told about Nick and Charlie? I mean obviously his behavior has a part to play in why. But I’ve seen/heard a lot of people say that he shouldn’t be upset and I just….don’t agree.

olivia weston

where do you lie on sympathising with Ben? I’ve heard such mixed opinions with some people saying they really feel for him in a way and some saying he’s gone too far to be redeemed.

Cherish would like a pet fox please and thank you

What do you think about Charile's decision to distance himself from Nick? It's pretty clear that his anxiety and low self-esteem is the problem here. Do you think there's anything Nick can do to help Charlie in this situation? What about Tao and Charile? Who do you think (if any) is at fault, how do you wish this be resolved?

What are your thoughts on Elle being the one to tell Tao about Nick and Charlie? Rather than it coming directly from Charlie

Do you think it was fair for Tao to blame his fighting with Harry on Charlie?

What are your hopes/expectations for season 2?

Olivia

this isn’t a question but would love to see you react to the bloopers and some of the cast interviews as they have such great chemistry together as friends especially kit and joe!

Ok, but the "Char" moment... !! 😍

Not exactly a question, but what are are your feelings about the statement "Harry is the villain of Nick's story, and Ben is the villain of Charlie's story"?

I feel like the story needed something big to give Nick the push to finally drop his shitty “friends” and I like how they set up him building a new friend group in the previous episode. I don’t know if he would have dropped them without that new safety net. Your thoughts?

Emily Brown

When Nick says “Even they just stood there” it’s a small but powerful moment, especially because he may have also just stood there before he met Charlie. Do you think part of Nick’s disgust and refusal to acknowledge some of the rugby boys aren’t terrible might also be disgust and anger with his past self mindlessly going along?

Olivia

just to add some context for you because its not really mentioned in the show: when tao says “i think i know why charlie didnt tell me its because he thinks im gonna say something stupid and accidentally out nick to all his mates” - he says this because it was him who accidentally outed charlie as they were talking too loudly about things, got overheard by others and thats how it got out so just thought you would maybe want a bit of context

Charlie

I’m curious about your opinion. I suspect that Harry’s “obsession” with Nick and Charlie stems from jealousy, particularly of Nick. He knows that Nick’s popularity is effortless because of his genuinely kind personality and that he doesn’t actually seek out the spotlight. In contrast, Harry craves it, but he realizes the people around him are merely there because he’s the “rich kid.” I think he knows they aren’t genuine friends because they’re always laughing at his expense when Tao destroys him with his comebacks. He sees Charlie as a threat to keeping Nick in the group, because if Nick isn’t his orbit, then the others might not stick around. Harry just isn’t emotionally mature and self-aware enough to realize acting like an ass is not how you keep friends. What are your thoughts on Harry’s behavior towards Nick and Charlie, particularly his motivations for wanting Nick to stay away from Charlie?

Following up on what Olivia said, there are a lot of differences from the show and the comic. For example, in the comic Tao was actually told about Charlie and Nick from Charlie himself in the later chapters and it was a much different reaction than what they showed in this episode due to, as Olivia said, Tao being at fault for Charlie getting outed. Would you have preferred to see Charlie tell Tao instead of Elle? Would you have preferred to see more of a sensitive and vulnerable reaction out of Tao that includes a much more deeper insight into he and Charlie’s relationship, his insecurities and anxieties like in the comics? Or do you think that without the knowledge that things are a tad different in the comics, they fit everything In perfectly with how they told the story?

This is more of an art/production question, but I was really struck by how this episode used the motif of shattering glass as its main artistic element, as compared to the falling leaves in "Meet", the rain in "Secret", the stars in "Friend", etc. When the title card cracked I immediately felt apprehensive, like this was not an episode that was going to try to be sweet or fun. To me, the "broken glass/mirrors" theme made me feel like this is intended to be the darkest of the first seven episodes. Do you feel that it was actually darker or substantially darker than the others? At this point, you have (unfortunately) seen the vast majority of the show. The art remains something Heartstopper does that is very different from most shows. Do you feel that the art has enhanced your viewing experience? Would the show still work without it?

In my opinion Nick's mum is already aware of Nick's sexuality, especially when you look at her reaction to the fight and also when she says, 'Charlie's a real special friend, isn't he?'. It's obvious they have such a special and honest relationship that she's picking up signals that something is wrong and Nick's hiding something important, but herself is waiting for him to open up to her, rather than pushing him. What are your thoughts on Nick and his Mum's relationship?
