The Salvatores and Mikaelsons dining together was interesting to say the least😂I loved how all four of them in their own defined their meaning and ways of standing by their family. The family theme in this show is heavy and it holds significant amount of importance. The glances shared between Damon and Stefan were telling of how they both could relate to Klaus's words "always and forever". Damon and Stefan have gone through their share of things and are still going through it because of their feelings for Elena but in their hearts both of them know that they have each other and that matters above everything else. I don't know if you noticed Harry but Damon hangs up on Elena because he wanted to let Stefan know that he is the elder brother to him before anything else. Stefan needs to understand and see these gestures of Damon because he won't voice them but his actions say a lot. Damon has tried to keep his feelings aside but in this season he has accepted them to an extent because Elena and him have formed a strong bond of friendship, trust and she hasn't discouraged his feelings so now he is more open about it. I loved that Damon gave it back to Stefan! He isn't blaming Stefan to be upset or hurt about the kiss but doesn't hesitate to show the mirror. Stefan needs to reflect on his actions badly especially when it is about Elena. Him hanging up on Elena when Stefan and him are talking about Damon could have left Stefan behind so Elena and Damon could be together was a great way of showcasing how what Damon does actually isn't about Stefan. He did it for himself and Elena because they both love Stefan. "The worst thing for Elena Gilbert is the two of you"-I can’t say I agree with Klaus. Regardless of Damon and Stefan entering Elena’s life, she is the doppelganger and Klaus would have ultimately come after her. If it weren’t for the boys, she may not still be alive. And the relationship that she has with both of them outweighs a lot of the bad. Caroline's father's death was sad! I don't care about her father but her having to just sit through till the end was painful because she felt helpless despite knowing that she could save her father from dying 😭Although I don't agree with the methods her father used on her earlier; I'm glad the writers chose this path to end things. Her father chose not to feed and transition and this made his character and his beliefs have a strong ground. It didn't show him in the selfish light by making him give up all of his beliefs in an instant simply because this time it was about him. I am worried about Alaric and these mysterious attacks! Why is someone hunting down the counsel members?

The mirrors in the show, the same circumstances different choice in life, same feelings, different action and reactions. Elijah and Klaus, Stefan and Damon, Damon and Klaus sharing the same horrible experience with fathers, being on the recipient of their intense despise. Klaus is Damon ten times worse, and Elijah is Stefan ten times more moral, but just as ruthless, cold and emotionless when he decide to kill. Klaus actions are driven by emotions, by survival take to the extreme, by fear of solitude. That is why Damon likes Elijah and Klaus like Stefan best, it is the two sets of brothers recreated. And the parallels do not end to the share affection to the Petrova bloodline girls....keep watching....

I agree with you regarding what Klaus said about the Salvatore brothers being the worst thing for Elena. Elena would also run the same dangers under Klaus protection simply because she is a doppelganger, and Klaus's enemies will eventually find out the role Elena had making hybrids. Tyler is already working on getting unsire from Klaus and is only natural that more will follow that path.
