"The original plan was to snatch Davros and leave, not dance to his every whim.", Lytton, "Resurrection of the Daleks" Lytton is a fascinating character - a capable, duplicate (ex-)mind-controlled mercenary working for the Daleks. And he survives at the end of the story with his fake police chums - gosh! He is played by Maurice Colbourne (another "The Onedin Line" actor - we saw Peter Gilmore in the previous story). I remember Maurice from the BBC "The Day of the Triffids" 1981 miniseries. "The Doctor without his companions would be rather incongruous.", Stien, "Resurrection of the Daleks" RTD has mentioned that he considered that this attempt to assassinate the High Council with Doctor and companion duplicates was part of the New Who Time War. Ok, a wise person once said: "There's a lot going on in this story", sesskasays, Reaction to "Resurrection of the Daleks" Eric Saward (the author and the script editor) also suggested that this story is probably packed with too much plot - and you can see his point: - the Dalek's plot of cloning the Doctor and his companions, - mind-controlled mercenary soldiers / fake police, - prison ship crew and their resistance, - 20th century warehouse and soldiers and their clone versions, - the time corridor and Stien's story, - Davros and his plan for a rival Dalek faction, Pick any three and you'd have a good Who story. Yeah, there are a lot of moving parts in this one. "I can't stand the confusion in my mind!", Stien, "Resurrection of the Daleks" We get companion/Doctor flashbacks - we love these as they show the long history of the show. But Leela is missing! - LEELA IS MISSING!! - That's a crime!!! Actually, it was just a mistake - a clip from "The Face of Evil" was planned but it accidentally wasn't included. Leela, at least I remember you! "Brave heart, Tegan. Doctor, I will miss you.", Tegan, "Resurrection of the Daleks" Knowing that this would be Tegan's last line in this story, I have been quoting it every time I noticed the Doctor saying it to Tegan: - Earthshock - Enlightenment - Warriors of the Deep - The Awakening And not forgetting the New Who callbacks: "Brave heart, Canton.", The Doctor, "The Impossible Astronaut" "Brave heart, Clara.", The Doctor, "The Crimson Horror" And I will say it too. Brave heart, Tegan. I will miss you.

Either Leela was in a bit where the camera cut away, or the common fan theory applied that the Doctor deliberately blocked her from the transferred memories so his duplicate would arouse suspicion on reaching Gallifrey by not recognising Leela who lives there. K-9 mark I was also missing...
