"Unstable? Unstable? Unstable! This is me, Peri. At this very moment I am as stable as you will ever see me.", "Oh dear.", The Doctor and Peri, "Attack of the Cybermen" Love the series callbacks in this one - due to input from the production team's Doctor Who fan consultant - calling the companion "Susan" and seeing Totter's Lane scrapyard from "An Unearthly Child", Telos from "The Tomb of the Cybermen", Cybermen in the London sewers from "The Invasion". And they went back to the same quarry to represent Telos as the one used in "The Tomb of the Cybermen". And on top of that, the Cyber-Controller was played by Michael Kilgarriff reprising his role in "The Tomb of the Cybermen" 17 years earlier. And in those 17 years, ... well, they had to let the costume's silver foil out a bit. BTW: when the TARDIS lands in the Totter's Lane scrapyard, the music cue is a version of the theme to a classic BBC sitcom which was set in a scrapyard - and that sitcom theme was also written by Ron Grainer who composed the Doctor Who theme. "You said you came from Fulham.", "You know, Griffiths, when I look at you, I often wonder why your ancestors bothered to climb out of the primordial slime.", Griffiths and Lytton, "Attack of the Cybermen" Lytton also makes a comeback in this story along with his group of sinister policemen. Hey, we remember him from ... last year (although only just a few weeks ago for us marathon viewers). Griffiths is played by Brian Glover who had an early career as a professional wrestler. And then had a career as a writer and actor. I remember him from the first season of the sitcom "Porridge". Looking through his IMDB, he was in "An American Werewolf in London" - he was at the pub in the early scenes. But he did tend to be typecast as the type of character we see here: "You play to your strengths in this game, and my strength is as a bald-headed, rough-looking Yorkshireman", Brian Glover "I'm here to observe the activities of a white male suspect known as Lytton.", "Lytton? Tall, lean, dark, dark, well-spoken? The sort of man who might shoot his mother just to keep his trigger finger supple?", Russell and the Doctor, "Attack of the Cybermen" Russell, here, is played by Terry Molloy - who we last saw inside the Davros mask. "I can guess who it is. I've been expecting him to return. He calls himself the Doctor.", "Excellent!", Lytton and the Cyberleader, "Attack of the Cybermen" It's fun to have the Cybermen back!
