Lots of moving parts in this episode, yes, and I would concur that this will continue in the last two episodes of the season. I hear what you mean of this feeling like a final season. I would be more inclined to agree were it not for the fact that I recall five years ago when the final season aired. Though I’ve not seen it, people at work were VERY vocal about their displeasure about this, that, and the other thing. Details on the specifics of that to be discussed at a later time. It’s interesting how there’s less focus on any case of the week, and instead, the buildup to the big final confrontation. Nice that Kevin’s appearance happens before the credits, allowing you to have the heartfelt response that you had upon seeing him again. Twas too short a time with him in this episode, yes. Of course, we do need to tackle the matter of God. I am not calling God “Chuck” by the way. Dean does get you some, particularly as he exhibited less anger than I should have expected. He also went against your one prediction and did not punch God, and for good reason. Goes against everything they teach you in Sunday School if you go about punching God in the face. If I were to do that, I’d go STRAIGHT to Hell. No thank you. Quite something to see that scene of the boys’ talk with God get to you. we have a new prophet in the mix with Donatello. Rather nice to see that we both caught Keith Szarabajka in the credits. Me, I saw the name, said, “Oh, shit, he’s in this?” Good to see him as he’s great. Hope he comes back. The boys would be great fools if they just took Metatron at his word. We may have the insight of him sounding genuine and sincere, they do not. To Metatron’s credit he does anticipate that and has the proof of God’s memoir. Leads to the boys hearing it straight from the horse’s mouth about God’s plan to give the keys to Amara. Both of us highly doubt Amara would stop there. I take it in, and say, “Oh, Lord.” then look up, and apologize, “Sorry, I wasn’t talking to you.” Good strategy of using Dean as bait to distract Amara, shame she ultimately saw through it. We both had the shared reaction to Amara proclaiming that Dean betrayed her. They do get Lucy out. Alas, we lose Metatron. Curtis broke my heart a little bit, first when he tells Sam that it’s ok, and they should go. He sounds like a man who knows that his number’s up, and has made peace with that. Then when his last-ditch effort predictably does not succeed, how he has his last words before Amara kills him. Got me emotional and had me yelling at the show to not let Curtis leave. Afterwards, I say, “SHIT. Fuck it. I’m going to miss him.” I repeat what I said last week of we need to have Curtis see these videos, because you paid him just the best compliment of saying how you adored hating Metatron. Curtis is just so fantastic, and his turn as Metatron was a memorable time of things. All in all, just appreciate the lovely words you said about him, Jess, and I thank you for the great reaction.
