I absolutely adore your reactions to Supernatural, I can't wait for Wednesday's every week to see how you interpret and enjoy every episode, so anything to help you continue to put out great videos, and make it feasible to continue doing so, count me in! This finale is so incredibly special to me. This entire season, as I've said before, is my favorite, and I am so, so happy you loved it so much as well. I really think, for both boys, this entire season, and specifically this finale shows just how far these boys have come from that car crash at the end of season 1. Sam, the angry, grieving, revenge-driven kid has grown into a calm, collected leader. He is still focused, and driven, but it is truly for the right reasons now, not just because he is in pain. He truly is fighting for the world, and he is putting aside his own pain and suffering to do so. The kid who wouldn't sacrifice his father to take out Yellow Eyes for good, is now the man who is holding the troops together, who rallies them and boosts their morale and gets them back on track when everyone else is giving up. More importantly, he is willing to let his brother go, so that Dean can save the world. Sam is willing to sacrifice half of his only family left, his partner, and his protector, to do the right thing for the greater good. Season 1 Sam would not be capable of doing what season 11 Sam is doing, and season 11 really highlights that all season long, showing us just how much he has grown up and changed over the seasons. And Dean isn't the cocky, arrogant kid who only sees things in shades of black and white. Season 1 Dean was very much "all monsters are evil", the only good monster is a dead monster, only violence can solve the supernatural. He was a great hunter, but he didn't understand nuance and complexity, because a hunt was just a hunt. But by season 11, by now, we get to see Dean evolve into a more compassionate, more understanding hunter. We see him problem-solve on the fly, and adjust his view to see all sides of the story, not just his own. I really, really love that we got that final scene with Dean and Amara talking, when you can see Dean make the decision that killing Amara isn't the right call. That, supernatural being or not, she doesn't need to be taken out, she needs to be heard, and understood. Sam and Dean have always been two sides of the Hunter coin, but this season, this finale, we really see them bleed into each other in a way we have only really had glimpse of before. Dean's talking to Amara, listening and empathizing with her, and figuring out what she needs, and how to give it to her, is so very, very Sam. Dean is a man of action, so for him, saying what he feels is so much harder than showing it. Speaking to Amara, talking to Cas and admitting Cas is family, these are huge steps for the "pull the trigger, shoot first talk later" kid that we met in season 1. Sam, on the other hand, is a man of words, so taking the steps, doing the actions, is where it is much harder for him, but we see Dean's influence so clearly this episode. Taking the fight to Amara, making the plan, figuring out how to execute it, not backing down or giving up no matter how stiff the odds and doing whatever it takes, whatever the cost, to save the world. Just such incredible story telling, and writing for both boys this season. Jensen and Jared absolutely killed it, across the board. I am really, really excited to see how you react to season 12, another phenomenal season in my mind, and specifically your takes on Mary!
