See, now this premiere, they had the recap attached to it which I saw, and the copy for your reaction, it’s not there. (Unless it was, and you just chose not to include the footage.) Makes no sense. Yes, an interesting premiere. Not much Crowley, though what we get is good. You, me, and I’d imagine Crowley all had the same response to the one demon going on about the hormones he went through when he was a teenage girl. Big thing of Dean’s reunion with his mom. Good narrative shorthand with Mary’s initial reaction that reminds us that neither of the boys bears an uncanny resemblance to their father. She is going to have a big adjustment process ahead of her. If it’d make Mary feel any better, I’d say to her that to be fair, I’m barely able to navigate through the modern world, technology-wise, so she’s not alone on that one. Main parts of the episode are concerning this Toni, shared feelings there, especially the holier than thou attitude. Particularly how it’s undermined by how she clearly is not much of a long-term thinker. She needs information from Sam so bad that she shoots him, when there’s non-lethal methods to subdue someone. She also goes on about how there’s not been a recorded monster attack in Britain since 1965. Assuming that some of the monsters did not find loopholes or other ways to operate under the radar, how many innocent monsters have been killed, I wonder. The lady really shows she knows so very little when she expects Sam to divulge some sort of organizational hierarchy amongst American hunters, like they all gather at the Moose Lodge to hash out hunter strategery or some such shit. And she’s doing all this, allegedly, to “Make America... safe.”, which, yeah, shared reaction at that part. You and I are also clearly expecting that Sam’s going to be one stubborn motherfucker. Loved both him calling Toni an accent in a pantsuit, and when he points out to her that he’s been tortured by the Devil himself, so her attempts will be an average Tuesday for Sam. Leading to his continued response of “Screw you.”, rather prefer your responses as it’s far less PG. We both hated those goddamn needles. Toni brings out the big guns with the mind shit. Love Sam faking her out with that. Loved your concern at that part before the reveal that Sam was faking. Never seemed to cross Toni’s mind that that would happen, thus, as Sam tells her, she’s nowhere near as good at her job as she fancies. Shame that Sam didn’t go all the way in taking her out, though nice to see her squirm and panic. Dean, Castiel, and Mary were on the hunt. Love Castiel not fucking around, your own reactions to that being great. Mary let the mama bear out, because of course she fucking did seeing as her baby boy is in danger. Toni’s right-hand lady made the valiant effort, but damn if that was something seeing Mary take her out. Love the scene of Mary reeling from that. All in all, a solid premiere.
