Two weeks later and I reiterate that I understand the feelings of anger over Toni having your mom’s name, when as you said your mom does not get all that much representation with her name. As I said, my own mom is in a similar situation, in that though her name is not uncommon, the specific variation is not in film and tv all that much. A beautiful case when it has happened was Fargo with the lovely Margie representation there. Dad was luckier and he had some good representation over the years, a more recent example being Invincible with our hero that is Mark. It is interesting for you and I as our names are far more common, with a fair amount of representation in stuff. Albeit it isn’t too common to have our names being the names of protagonists in things. I know you had the great Jessica representation in Dune, and you have the really lovely representation in Murder, She Wrote with our beloved Jessica Fletcher. And you also have Jessica Jones. Me, like I said, you tend not to see the main character have my first name, though there are some truly terrific examples such as the Ripliad that make me very happy. The more interesting thing is how in my case, you never ever see one’s last name ever pop up in anything. Never has happened. Nor my mom’s maiden name, nor if I recall correctly, my dad’s mom’s maiden name I’ve never seen in a film or show. Still just love how you got so rightly angry about Toni rocking your mom’s name. Made for a very memorable part of the reaction.

My parents' names on the other hand are extremely common, as is my surname. Grandparents' surnames are a lot less common, though one of them did have the misfortune of being used as a dodgy minister's surname in a UK show from last year. As a person of Scottish descent, my other grandparents' surname is not that far from Macleod. Not a clan to enjoy membership of in this show.

I feel like the British Men of Letters is one of those SPN storylines that the fandom is divided on. With that said I love, love, love Adam Fergus who plays Mick.
