I know that it's a show with fantasy elements, but there is this fun-fact, that Hitlers great-nephews made a pact to stay childless so that those genes die out with them. All of them hate their great uncle. (in 2018, one of them said in an interview, that he hates Trump, despite being a Republican, because he hates liars. xD). So the story wouldn't work IRL. xD Unfortunately, the Twitter-line aged well, since Musk took over. Yikes.

Yeah, with that historical fun-fact in mind, you treat this episode’s plot as a “What if?” type deal of someone carried the bloodline on that the world at large does not know about. Rather interesting to hear the one great-nephew’s take on Trump. As I recall, the twitter line was already a pointed insult back then as it aired in 2016 and Trump had already used it to spread so much hate speech and propaganda. Cut to seeing the episode today with now having the element of Musk controlling twitter, yeah, it all ages depressingly well.

I think the reason I like this episode is because Hitler deserves to be made ridiculous. There are too many examples of people latching on to his ideas, and it feels satisfying to have him portrayed not just as a dangerous murdering ideologue but also as an insane buffoon. By the end of his life I've read he was addicted to cocaine and becoming increasingly mentally unstable, so that also kind of tracks with this episode. I definitely remember reading a novel or novella in high school which involved the British right-wing using science fiction to resurrect Hitler, but even after Googling that I have no memory of the title. I found it refreshing to ridicule him with both works. Also it's really nice to see Dean get to do something he feels really good about. Doesn't happen nearly often enough.
