omg I love this episode lol. Dean needed this win lol Did you hear he killed Hitler? I love how, between Magda last episode, and Ellie this episode, Sam is starting to get to see the reflection of himself in these young kids, and it is really doing a great job of highlighting just how far he has come since he was their age. These girls, and their connections to psychicness, or evil in their blood, are a really great mirror of early seasons Sam, and really show how the innate goodness of Sam has thrived, to the point where he can fully empathize with these girls, and connect with them, and help them in ways no one else can do. They also help Sam feel at peace with his story I think, giving him perspective on how as impossible as his situation felt at the time when it was him in their shoes, he did manage to find a way through it all. And now he can pass on the wisdom and the lessons he has learned, to help make the journey easier for these poor girls. Also, as ridiculous and campy as this episode was at points, I did actually kind of appreciate the way they chose to portray Hitler. Near the end of the war, Hitler was massively mentally unstable. Hyper manic, hairpin trigger fury, complete mood swings, were all commonly reported for him in the last few years of the war, so it would make sense that that would be the way he would be when he was reborn as well. Not to mention, making him a pathetic, sniveling coward when his guards were gone is true to form as well. People like him are scary only in image, and legend, and in force. Take away his army, and any shred of control, and he is less than the shadow of a worm, and I appreciate that. Not to mention, Dean killed Hitler lol. Seeing him, the ultimate embodiment of a good soldier, take out the evil leader of one of the worst armies in history is just theraputic. Especially now that the whole "what could Hitler do with Twitter" thing hits so much differently.
