Quite a finale to end the season on. It does the heart good to hear you say that you’re overwhelmed by how much you loved the new season. Considering how high the bar was set for you by especially the third season, that this one exceeded all your expectations, high praise from you. Interesting to get more context on Bullseye being hired to kill Foggy, pissing you off with who the scene included. The scene also sheds the tiny bit of light as to how Kingpin escaped incarceration following season three. I had merely assumed that the Snap had fucked the system bad enough for Kingpin to take advantage of it in some form or another. Maybe that helped, but now Vanessa mentions something about the fallout of Ray exposing the corrupt feds. Made me instantly anticipate that you would be using words about that one, Jess. Sure enough, you insisted that Vanessa not even speak Ray’s name. Boy, Matt torpedoed his relationship with Heather by calling out to Karen, kudos to Kirstin for trying to smooth that over though. I think you have one of the best reads on Heather, especially how you note she doesn’t seem to be terribly receptive to what Matt was saying. We are allowing some benefit of the doubt of she is presumably not aware of the whole story, and even then, she checked out of the relationship. Of course, Matt pretty much did the same thing, and it REALLY does NOT send a good look when Kingpin puts in more of an honest effort and work to save his marriage. And it says something when he and Vanessa are the mvp of couples in the MCU. I’m completely serious that all the heroic romances and couples of the MCU ain’t got SHIT on Kingpin and Vanessa, they are the best couple in this universe. And now, Heather has thrown in her lot with Kingpin, and we have the shared interest as to how that will play out. Quite amusing, the words you expressed about Kingpin sending Buckaroo to kill Matt. The teddy bear was a nice touch though. Plus, Matt skedaddled, sparing both of us the needle. Knew that you would be delighted by the Punisher returning. Jon’s not lost his touch. In fact, I heard that in the process of going to the gun range and getting back into the role, he crossed paths with his predecessor, Thomas Jane, and the two had a good time together, which just sounds wonderful. You got to love Punisher holding Daredevil to task for his neglecting basic matters of coffee. He is right about coffee being quite the cure for things. An ice-cold Old Style does the trick as well. Considering the things in films and shows that make me as giddy as a kid on Christmas, I’m not one to talk about the violence and bloodshed here making you feel the same way, and I adore that you felt that way. Love how you had the realization of the one cop being Hector’s killer. I saw the vest, registered it, said, “Oh. So, YOU’RE the one.” That grenade solved the one dilemma. Even without seeing the name in the credits, you could call that it was Karen who got the Punisher in the game with helping Daredevil. Good to see all your reactions to Karen in this. Loved the culmination of Daniel’s arc. Your cackling when Powell expressed his idolatry for the Punisher was life giving, Jess. I forgot that the opening credits gave away that Lalo was going to show up, so seeing Jack in the cage was a bit of a jolt. Him and Punisher teaming up should be interesting, if it in fact happens. I think I’d share Punisher not liking Jack much, but that’s more the Lalo of it all; certain things a man does not forgive. Bringing us to Gallo. Yeah, it makes the heart sink when Sheila betrays him. You anticipate the death, and the blow to his Adam’s apple caused a jump. Nobody, it seems, was prepared for his VERY GRUESOME death. The scream you had at that one was fantastic. The scene made a hell of an impression on me. It was terrifying and wonderful to watch, making a man say, “Goddamn, Wilson, I love watching you work.” Loved your words of Karen actually convincing Daredevil to stop and think, which he tends not to do what with his Christ complex. The absence of Foggy and Father Paul not helping that. He might want to see Sister Maggie again. Sometimes a guy’s just got to talk to his mom. Karen got through to him, leading to shared pride there. The stage is set for season two of building an army. You highlight what a significant percentage of the MCU is SORELY lacking, villain-wise, or at least villain focus-wise. And yes, there is that thing of this show puts people through the wringer of hoping that their hereoes will triumph and that if they are to defeat the villains, they damn well need to WORK for it. Like how you likened it to your favorite team making it to the Superbowl, even if you’ve not experienced the Jets in the Superbowl. Too young to have seen the ‘85 Bears. I did see the Bears make it to the Superbowl once. Was nice, albeit not quite the euphoric thing that people sell it as. Compare it to the Cubs being in the World Series, that was a religious experience and a half, especially when they won game seven, Jesus Christ, that was a night seeing that one with my dad. The feelings from the villainy in this do get in the neighborhood of that feeling of the 2016 series. To end the season with our villains triumphant was a gift. There is the ray of hope that now Matt knows the scheme. Namely how Matt has caught on that our dear villainous couple wish to create their own city. Probably he thinks, likely correctly, that they won’t stop there. That only the world itself will satisfy them. Which... No. I know they wouldn’t stop there. I wouldn’t if I were them. It is the villainous way of things that is FAR too relatable to be healthy: The world is not enough. But it is such a perfect place to start. And indeed, that last scene with them having their dinner in front of their most cherished painting, Vincent and Ayelet SO PERFECTLY perform the moment of Kingpin and Vanessa toasting to their success, and silently saying to each other, “And if you’re strong enough, together, we can take the world apart, my love.” Damn it, I just love it so much! Obviously, you had something of a different response to that last Kingpin and Vanessa scene. Perfectly understandable. I’m not trying to change your mind on any of that. Merely expressing my love for the beautiful couple, whilst also apologizing to you for it as I know that your position on their being on your shit list is intractable and adamantine. Considering the Ben, Ray, and Foggy of it all, I won’t argue with you on any of it. Bringing us to the thanks you gave to those of us following along with your reactions. I’m just glad I finally caught the previous three seasons of Daredevil, managed to get in the two seasons of Punisher, then your reactions to both shows before this new season. And indeed, it increased the emotions of sharing this with you. A fantastic time seeing the evolution of your channel, and for this to drop at about the same time as your ten-year anniversary, just a wonderful thing, Jess. Truly, thank you for this lovely time going through this new season, and I await the next season with great interest. Until then, a lovely, lovely reaction to this finale, Jess. Thank you so much.

Faction Paradox

I'm starting to think that Gallo might not appear in S2

It is starting to seem likely that Gallo will be absent from season two. Which is a shame as Vincent and Michael sell the great acting whenever the characters met for any little chinwags.
