I'd love to see The Valeyard appear in New Who as a long term villan. That could be a possibility given the way RTD has been writing the show since he returned as showrunner. I think the closest we've got to The Valeyard in New Who was The Dream Lord in Amy's Choice. Similar concept anyway. My ideal casting choice for The Valeyard in New Who would be Tobias Menzies.

The fact that these two episodes are as coherent as they are is a minor miracle. The behind the scenes turmoil of s23 is a drama in its own right. Colin’s battled against evil speech is a defining Doctor moment and really calls out the true nature of the Time Lords.

I did find myself wondering if the Dream Lord was kind of a prototype of the Valeyard. He was the darker side of the Doctors nature, but existed as a metaphysical concept in the Doctors mind / The realm of Dreams. It wouldn't be a huge stretch to imagine The Valeyard was born from this as a physical being at some point (which is hopefully a tale still to be told).
