"I'm trying not to be personal. I mean, after all, a bat may look at a Time Lord.", The Doctor, "Time and the Rani" I'm sure whether I find our confused Doctor misquoting proverbs ("a cat may look at a king") adorable or annoying. "A bird in the hand keeps the Doctor away.", The Doctor, "Time and the Rani" OK, perhaps it's getting a touch annoying. "Ah well, every dogma has its day.", The Doctor, "Time and the Rani" But it turned out to be useful to confuse the brain! "You must be the Doctor. I've met your companion, Mel.", "Don't hold that against me.", Ikona and the Doctor, "Time and the Rani" Funny. "Killer insects!", Ikona, "Time and the Rani" I believe the "insects" clarification lines were added because it really isn't clear from the video effects what is happening - like you noted. The soundtrack in the "Centre of Leisure" and throughout this story is very familiar to me because I have the very well-played soundtrack CDs for this era. "The potential of the dinosaurs was never fully realised.", The Rani, "Time and the Rani" And we get a "Betty!" reaction - we live for these. "An antidote against those killer insects in the globe.", ... "Ikona believes that our people should meet their own challenges, if they are to survive.", The Doctor, "Time and the Rani" I'm not sure pouring out the antidote was a great idea - I suppose I can sympathize with the gesture but, come on, keep it just in case something happens and you really need it. "I'll explain how it works later. It's all relative.", Doctor to Einstein, "Time and the Rani" I probably need to re-watch the "Death Is The Only Answer" minisode to see how both stories fit Einstein's history into the Who canon (ignoring any Christmas parties). Of course I'm pretty sure the children of Oakley Junior School didn't even know about this story at all. "I'll grow on you.", The Doctor, "Time and the Rani"

Don’t blame you for still processing Six’s abrupt exit. Likewise, you catch on to the fact that we’re not going back for Peri, sadly. So, as I say, Seven is within the top half of my ranking of Doctors, so it is very nice to see already you’re taking a bit of a shine to him. Sylvester is wonderful in the role. You say that you end this story with high hopes for him, this pleases me. You commented on his running. Doctors being flaily when running is part and parcel to the experience, though Seven does strongly exhibit the trait. Then there was Twelve running like a penguin with its ass on fire, which is just how Peter runs. Considering my own running, who am I to judge? Interesting to hear that the one situation that the Doctor was in is similar to how Rocco wakes you up in the morning. Like how you got more of a read on the Rani, and yeah, she does have something of a streak of indifference to her, that does make her a hoot. You say that you understand why she was a fan favorite for returning villains. Never mind how she didn’t EXACTLY get the best showing when she finally did return, though that’s not the fault of the actresses, it was nice to see the Rani somehow return. I say “somehow return” as I fail at the moment to recall how the Rani got out of the situation at the end. LOVED your reaction to that. You expressed that she still looked fierce. Even in betrayal, she does still look fierce as fuck, yes. Love how you expressed further aversion to the Glinda trap. The Glinda trap is rather terrifying, yes. And it’s nice how you’re giving Mel her due, whilst acknowledging that you do get how some fans weren’t too enthusiastic with her, given the copious screaming. I like that you stick up for her some. Likewise, great when you highlight Mel’s very impressive pants that remained immaculately white. That is a hell of an accomplishment. Shaky story aside, a great reaction to the introduction to your last Classic Doctor. (Yes, technically Eight is the last Classic era Doctor, but you met him already.) Thanks for the fun reaction, Jess.
