"I'm trying not to be personal. I mean, after all, a bat may look at a Time Lord.", The Doctor, "Time and the Rani" I'm sure whether I find our confused Doctor misquoting proverbs ("a cat may look at a king") adorable or annoying. "A bird in the hand keeps the Doctor away.", The Doctor, "Time and the Rani" OK, perhaps it's getting a touch annoying. "Ah well, every dogma has its day.", The Doctor, "Time and the Rani" But it turned out to be useful to confuse the brain! "You must be the Doctor. I've met your companion, Mel.", "Don't hold that against me.", Ikona and the Doctor, "Time and the Rani" Funny. "Killer insects!", Ikona, "Time and the Rani" I believe the "insects" clarification lines were added because it really isn't clear from the video effects what is happening - like you noted. The soundtrack in the "Centre of Leisure" and throughout this story is very familiar to me because I have the very well-played soundtrack CDs for this era. "The potential of the dinosaurs was never fully realised.", The Rani, "Time and the Rani" And we get a "Betty!" reaction - we live for these. "An antidote against those killer insects in the globe.", ... "Ikona believes that our people should meet their own challenges, if they are to survive.", The Doctor, "Time and the Rani" I'm not sure pouring out the antidote was a great idea - I suppose I can sympathize with the gesture but, come on, keep it just in case something happens and you really need it. "I'll explain how it works later. It's all relative.", Doctor to Einstein, "Time and the Rani" I probably need to re-watch the "Death Is The Only Answer" minisode to see how both stories fit Einstein's history into the Who canon (ignoring any Christmas parties). Of course I'm pretty sure the children of Oakley Junior School didn't even know about this story at all. "I'll grow on you.", The Doctor, "Time and the Rani"

If you're still curious as to the reception this story got back in 1987, 'loyhargil' is an anagram of 'holy grail'. That's all you need to know.
