Literally every concern mentioned in this ep, about Birdie Wing, is acknowledged and answered in s2. The stakes in s1 are low, but that’s because THAT is the talent disparity between Eve/Aoi and the other kids their age. S2 ups the stakes both on AND off the course.

The stakes in s1 are low, but that’s because THAT is the talent disparity between Eve/Aoi and the other kids their age. S2 ups the stakes both on AND off the course. I get the issues with the s1 pacing, but I think they did it intentionally to make it feel like a round of golf: you get a few holes in your favor, but you’re feeling out your opponents early on, learning how they play, studying their weaknesses before you use that info and strike.

Matt! There is an American football manga/show. It’s called Eyeshield 21, and it’s great! I recommend the manga over the anime, but it’s my favorite sports manga!
