I enjoy the prerecorded reactions, but I’m for sure open to this experimentation. Maybe we could find some sort of balance to where the longer albums are prerecorded, and the shorter ones are live-streamed?

The streams are fun! Although, if you’re not able to push it to 20 hrs a month it would be cool to every now and then get a twitch livestream reaction. If you did want to try and hit 20, you’ve got 10 set with Fridays. So it would be finding 10 hours and what to do with it. Could be song requests from chat, you looking at other sub-genres maybe, or even just chatting streams. Again though, if 20 per month doesn’t work I know I for one would just enjoy a reaction stream when I get them haha. Love the stuff bob and congrats on the new PC!

I think it’d be cool, especially with the new peggy/Danny album coming out yourself and the chat all listening to it together for the first time would be a real cool experience, everyone bouncing off ideas potentially I think giving it a try would be cool, especially for new drops

The last twitch live streams were fun! So I would do that. But it also depends what time you’re going to be streaming, I’m from Europe. But ultimately do whatever you like, it’s not fun to watch somebody that doesn’t enjoy what they are doing.

twitch is a great website, the live reactions i’ve personally love cause chat feels more involved and there’s direct communication. the only thing i’m worried is you feeling trapped into having to stream, but if u have the time id much rather watch reactions on twitch then rewatch on patreon. all of us will still be where no matter what u choose but it would be sick for you to have a twitch contract

I'd say that it would be an interesting idea to try out more streaming. However I'm worried you might get a copyright strike even if you don't save the reaction as a VOD. Also, may I ask for the new computer specs?

At $2 a month, I really do not care. Definitely experiment if you feel like it, but as long as the unedited reaction is taken from twitch and put on here, there's very little difference? A lot of people won't be able to make the stream week in week out so having the two options is great. Also, if anyone feels like the live twitch reaction isn't as streamlined or focused than the prerecorded reactions - it is so easy just to skip any waffle in between by pressing a button. Doesn't take away from the viewing experience imo. I started this comment with 'i really do not care' 😂.

if you manage to do twitch, I think it should be limited to non-album stuff, like music videos, performances, singles, mixtapes... anyways however it is I don't mind I just enjoy your content

i think the twitch offer could be a great new opportunity for you, but i'm not sure how you're going to be able to put in 20 hours a month towards it. to my understanding, your time is already stretched pretty thin as it is. i think testing it out with the upcoming peggy/danny collab is a good idea, and would suggest maybe ignoring your chat during the duration of the song, and catching up with them between songs (i haven't seen much of your previous streams, so maybe you already do that?) either way, i think it's a cool opportunity, and you should test it out to see if you can fit it in your monthly schedule. if you don't really have the time for it, it's fine. edit: also, you did mention that there were other requirements besides the monthly time requirement. i think requirements like that (whatever they may be) can take away from the authenticity of your reactions. still think you should test it out, but i'm leaning towards voting for you to stay independent.

My pitch- For Friday Reactions: try streaming while you react to the album, but minimal to no chat interaction would be the best in my personal opinion. That way you would be getting in the hours at twitch and the community would be able to discuss and watch live etc, but the end product that goes on youtube and patreon would be essentially the same as itt has always been. For Extra Twitch Stuff: Maybe once a month you could do a singles/music video reaction stream, and just so it isnt so chaotic, you could have all the songs you are going to listen to picked out ahead of time. Like the discord could vote and pick around 15 songs a few days before. I think that would genuinely be great cause there are so many essential hiphop singles that arent on albums, that im sure the community would love to see you react to

Personally whatever you want to do, I'm down to support. I like having the access to the the full reactions here to watch when I have free time. I' don't really keep up with the whole livestream format. I'm sure you'll figure out the kinks on how to deal with the chat and how to transfer your reaction process to a livestream. Getting some good mods will go along way I'm sure.

I would’ve said yes if not for the 20 hour thing. First I would really prefer friday reactions stay precorded I don’t wanna lose that. Second While the Sunday streams are fun to reach that 20 hour minimum you’d have to do them almost every week increasing your workload with the channel which could cause burn out and you’d potentially overworking yourself. Thirdly I feel changing your channel this much to get a twitch deal you might end up regretting and being stuck in just isn’t a good idea overall. I don’t think the chat is that important as to change the way you’ve been doing things for it. And while I love when your wife joins I fear losing the original dynamic that made me fall in love with your content in the first place. And lastly and most selfishly. Please don’t stream the JpegMafia reaction As a test. Testing if streaming makes a reaction worse on a album many people (including yourself I presume) have been extremely hyped about is kinda bad idea and maybe should be used on an album with less weight. Your Peggy reactions are some of the best on your channel but most of the reason why is seeing you alone with headphones experiencing the crazy sound of the album. Reacting to a Peggy and Danny project while not wearing headphones with a chat your looking at does not sound like a winning combination to me. Whatever you do I’ll keep watching Bob. And I really do like the streams (especially the slowthai one) but I just don’t think it’s a good idea to go with this twitch thing. But that’s just how I feel

Having some of your fun or wild theories about what shit means in an album be answered by chat could ruin some of the fun, although understanding references could help you enjoy the album more so testing it out first is the best option imo, either way would be entertaining haha

I ain’t gonna cap, I subscribed and got my friends to subscribe because of the fun aspect of a Friday video, we also get the short end of the stick because the live stream times/video upload times get uploaded in the UK around 4 am? just seems bullshit especially if I’m paying for 2 pounds to just see the videos that suite the UK viewers then to see you transition into livestreams which like I said we will all miss, seems unfair.

I like the singles idea but only if, like you say, they arent on any acclaimed albums that Bob is likely going to react to in the future. Limits the scope a bit but feel there's still plenty from artists that have had a good few singles run but their albums weren't great

I would personally like to keep the Friday album reactions pre-recorded. Feel like a chat would ruin some of the fun watching you trying to interpret lyrics. But I do understand you putting them on Twitch if you need to do 20 hours a week.

An idea for the extra hours: You could do some streams where you're doing deep dives into albums or artists you're considering between your reactions and reviews/additional thoughts. There's often accompanying videos, loose singles, or stories and things that happened to them that adds more context to the music they end up making. Stuff that might be interesting but basically non-essential stuff. That's something I feel the chat can assist and add value to.

Personally, I think I’d really enjoy if you did more live-streaming stuff on twitch. I’ve really enjoyed watching your live album reactions, and I think that the community interaction makes it feel more fun and looser. I also don’t mind losing early access to album reactions. I’m paying mainly to support you. That being said, twenty hours is a lot and you shouldn’t go for it if you think it would be too demanding. I’m here no matter what you do.

Live streaming your reactions is a bad idea. Its not just that chat will distract you(its extremely tempting to look at chat, even if you try not too.) But they will influence your opinion before you form your own and over share information about an album or song spoiling your first time experiencing it. Turning the Tables, connor, gives his dad information about a song or album but hes very careful about what he shares and is never saying"omg this is my favorite song" before his dad has heard it.

i enjoy the livestreams, and the main reason i am on patreon is to support you as a content creator. i can see how twitch chat might have an influence on the reaction, but at the same time i feel more engaged and part of the reaction. will continue to be on patreon regardless

I dont mind the idea of livestreaming, but I really dislike the idea of having a chat while reacting to an album. Even what you said about it being nice to have immediate answers to questions from chat is in my opinion worsening the content. Part of what is interesting when watching a react video is seeing their raw thoughts whether they are right or wrong about something. Like if you start interpreting a song in one way, I want to see your interpretation, I don't want you to just be able to look at a chat and get clarification, that ruins it a bit for me.

True. You have some valid points. You have to ignore some of those guys in discord. I thought I knew it all when I was that age also. He could also live stream on Twitch and upload the video to YouTube. He has to do what's best for him at the end of the day. Not the individual. I like it the way it is, but if he wants to do things differently, that's up to him. I support him because he dives deep into each album.

It depends on a number of questions: 1] What is the benefit of being a Twitch partner? (What does that get you, exactly?) 2] Is 20 hours/month possible/will it hurt your enjoyment of the journey? It seems like too much. 3] Will Twitch chat be a distraction/influence the experience in a negative way? To me 20 hours is what makes this a non-starter. I don’t want you to feel overwhelmed by this experience. It seems like one album per week with an extra thrown in from time to time is the right balance for you. You already do so much and they’re requiring more. I’m fine with trying it out for some albums just to see how it goes. You’ve already done it with Yeat and Slowthai. But I personally can’t attend livestreams so I will be watching on patreon/youtube regardless.

Don’t really care as long as the videos are the same. I would probably never watch a livestream anyway. Maybe just don’t look at the chat unless it’s something you need though.

I think if it was "too live" (if that makes sense) it could degrade the reaction a little bit. I think a good idea is limiting your view of chat during the reaction and then at the end when you are doing immediate wrap up thoughts, hang out with chat for 10-20 minutes and have questions answered or better context given there. I think as long as you prioritize the "youtube" audience foremost (rather than the live viewers), it should work out fine. For stream hours, i think also streaming your "additional thoughts" would be the best way to increase hours. It could be an additional thoughts + patreon chat comments maybe? taking a lil inspiration from path :P.

I watched the UGLY reaction stream live and I enjoyed it but I definitely felt that having chat there going "this next track is my favorite!" or "slowthai said this lyric means x" all the time took something away from the experience for me. In prerecored reactions the focus is on the music and your thoughts on the music and I really like that. If I want to express my own thoughts and read what "the internet" thinks about an album I can go on various subreddits or discord servers to do that. With that in mind, and also the fact that I really don't want you to burn yourself out or sacrifice more family time, I don't think the Twitch offer is worth it, but please do whatever feels right for you.

Ultimately I’m wondering for both you and us what are the benefits to having 20 hours a month on Twitch? I’m guessing you might get additional compensation from Twitch which is great, and then as a benefit to us we get more content from you than we normally would? What would that content look like? I think the only community issue you may run into is as you get bigger, is some of these live streams are going to get screen recorded as they happen and then you might have people posting highlights to YouTube before you post your reaction to Patreon/YouTube.

Honestly- I just want you to be able to turn this thing into a full time gig. If involving twitch helps, cool. Personally I feel like the livestream reactions have been great for new albums, but for your reactions, it’s a little better to see you do your research on records, take time with annotations, and really dive into lyrics that have been vetted. I just worry that 20 hours a month will burn you out

I think my only concern is forcing content. As long as you're still having fun and enjoying what you do, then your work will be genuine. Essentially you need to find 8 additional hours a month, if you stretch your normal reactions to 3 hours. Might be a stretch unless you're gonna double your album listening output.

I like your live streams, you can live stream all your content if it gets you to 20, the buag, additional thoughts, and all your regular Friday reactions should get you to at least 15 hours. Maybe you can do half hour open discussions with the community post reaction to extend stream times. The only issue is burnout I think. We enjoy quality content and you taking your time on lyrics, analyzing everything, as long as you’re enjoying the music and doing that, whatever path you decide is cool with us

I like the idea of live streaming a reaction maybe once a month when you react to new albums! I also really liked the first stream where we reacted to videos and songs that you probably wouldn’t react to otherwise

I think it will be nice. Not only will we get the raw reaction but also if at the beginning of the stream or at the end you can react to maybe some interviews or some clips of the albums or artists that would be cool also. And then the extra time without the reactions you can always just chat with the community and get their opinions and insights of it or on artists. I think it will be good for the community. Maybe you can add some other things into Patreon on top of the reactions like maybe some community conversations or maybe community interviews for opinions on artists/albums. I feel like if it becomes a full time thing there's endless possibilities for Patreon, or the community, and especially for you 😊👍👍

Also on the not of the community interactions on twitch you can also turn chat to a sub only mode or a emote only mode that way they won't really interrupt the raw reaction of the album.

I’m probably in the minority, but I think live-streaming the raw reaction might take away from the reaction subconsciously? I don’t really know so doing a test run is definitely needed! Do whatever is best your you and the majority of the viewers tho, and if you are getting a bag from twitch, why not. Also I feel like 20 hours wouldn’t be that bad if say 10 hours comes from album reacts and 2-3 come from BUAG, you would need to somehow make up 7-8 hours of streaming, so I hope that doesn’t put such a work load on you

Being from Dublin, it’s tough to catch any of the livestreams. So as long as the livestreams still make it onto here I’ve no issue with them being streamed. Get that extra cash if you can!

Been subbed since the j cole reaction. My thoughts: I want you to do this full time. Do what you gotta do to get there. I like the live streams and have no issue with people getting it for “free.” As for your wife, I love when she is on because of the dynamic. Things feel a little looser which makes it more fun. Same with having chat there. That said, the critical analysis might take a hit with the 2 of you there. You might not feel as inclined to go over every line like you often do. My suggestion is to have the audience guide you. On something less serious like Saturation 2 (please!!), she would be great but maybe on something like another j cole album, you would need to do that one solo. My 2 cents

I think it could be nice. If you stream and then put the normal reaction here and the edited to youtube I dont really think that would offend to many of us. Patreon is a much better catelog for your videos then the twitch videos page and the $2 a month to support you is honestly great value for the amount of entertainment offered

Getting compensated from twitch would be great no doubt, but I can't help but worry what a forced 20 hours might do to your content. One of the things I love most about your channel specifically is how genuine you are. You're one of the most down to earth and honest youtubers out there and I can trust that when you're posting something it's because YOU want to, and when you react positively or negatively to something it's because it's how you REALLY feel. Putting a quota on your work would have me worried that you would be sacrificing being genuine for the sake of putting out content. Ultimately, do what you *want* to do and what you're comfortable with. The only thing I, and probably most others, ask is that you stay true to yourself in whatever you choose. Stay genuine, it's why we love you.

I am down for streams, that's fun and the immediate feedback can sometimes help. But also sometimes it's a fun experience when you're "alone in your electric chair" going down wild rabbit holes. Both are fun to watch in different ways. Ultimately whatever proves to be more helpful for your journey into Hip Hop, is the way you should do it. And yeah having Bob + Someone else for certain reactions is always fun so keep doing it.
