i still feel like this arc with joonhyung’s mom was handled poorly i get that they wanted to wrap it up on a positive note but it felt like they completely dismissed his pain and trauma. i also don’t think realistically he would get over something like this overnight im sure his sessions with his therapist and having his loved ones around him helped a lot but having a competition right away and his start trauma being resolved just like that? i didn’t think they gave him the closure he deserved esp after an emotional first half like that man ts broke me :( but anyways bokjoo and joonhyung are so lovely to watch im willing to forgive this drama for literally any flaw just for them lol not ready for the finale tmro saying goodbye to them for the umpteenth time </3

A little bit late but… I think sometimes the struggles and emotional knots we have unfold without ever having a proper verbal, logical resolution and I think that’s what they tried to show with Joon Hyung’s story. The fact that he was able to lash out with the family that raised him just shows they were a safe space for him to show his feelings no matter how ugly they were. It was a breakthrough in their relationship and on his emotional development. His biological mom was just unsafe for him and he let her go. I thought because of his relationship with Bok Joo it made sense he ended up treating his biological mom very maturely and because he mentions his sister it leaves implicit it is not for her, is for his siblings. Now, I agree with Harris, I wanted the TEA, what happened? Who she married too? Why couldn’t she take him with her? What was her thought process?
