Steins;Gate excels at going into emotional or intellectual depth of characters which is something you saw in this episode for Steins;Gate 0, and you will continue seeing in future episodes in the remainder of this season.

don't stress about the whole orihime, altair and Vega for now, it's have a lot of simbolism but the relevant parts will be better spelled out in future parts

Literally everyone knows the story of Orihime and Hikoboshi (Vega and Altair) in Japan though. So just for context in case they did not already know, here the very short version of the story: Orihime (Weaving Princess) is the daughter of the most powerful deity Tentei. She met Hikoboshi (Cowherd Boy) and fell in love with him. Tentei forbid them to meet and have them separated by the Milky Way (aka the Sky River, which is literally a river to these celestial beings). They are only allowed to meet each other once a year, on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month. On that day, magpies would form a bridge so that they can cross the Milky Way. Ancient people sure are creative. From just two bright stars next to the Milky Way born such a romantic story.
