You right about him losing for the first time and on top of that losing to the person he think is so weak calling him a pebble.

What I see in Bakugo is relational trauma. The way he reacts indicates clearly a survial reaction, he feels triggered by seeing Deku being fearful or weak and feels threatened when someone tries to help him implying he might be weak himself - which must mean that it wasn't safe to show fear or weakness growing up. His persona is there to protect him from the existential fear you'd expierence as a child that you couldn't process on your own and still would get overwhelmed by without help, since our survival as a child literally depends on our parents. So, him being angry is just what wasn't punished by his parents and what works for him to keep him safe and he can't stand appearing weak, it literally has to feel life threatening to him to go this quick into fight and flight. And Deku isn't noticing how fearful Bakugo actually is on the inside - he literally started to have a full on panic attack until All Might showed up.

The thing about Bakugo is that he's both a hard worker and a genius. Not only that, he's a perfectionist with a self discipline. He's just really angry at Deku's kind nature. He can't stand Deku having the audacity to think he can help him in any way when he himself doesn't have anything (being quirkless for one). To him, it's as if Deku thinks he's incapable of doing things.
