if you're confused about the pacing, I'm pretty sure the studio wasn't sure if they would get a second season. They basically tried to fit all the major plot moments from the manga into this one season. The second season basically just fills out the story a bit with the moments that were skipped.

I know this is random and not related to Horimiya, but it would be so dope if y’all checked out Blue Box! Definitely one of my favorite romance animes, and I love how mature the characters are in it. Also badminton and basketball romance sports anime? Hell yeah!
