Just to give more context on how Maki became this strong, in the Jujutsu world twins are treated as a single entity, so because Mai was born with cursed energy, Maki also ended up with some of it, just enough to see curses with her glasses, but since she didn’t have zero cursed energy her Heavenly Restriction couldn’t function fully and was a much weaker version compared Toji’s. At the same time, Mai never had 100% of her cursed energy either because part of it was shared with Maki, So instead of one twin being fully gifted with cursed energy and the other fully restricted, they both ended up weaker than they were supposed to be. That twin link is the main reason Maki could never reach the absolute zero cursed energy state needed for her restriction to fully work. When their father tries to kill them, Mai chooses to sacrifice herself and uses a final Binding Vow to take all of their shared cursed energy with her, and once she dies the link between them disappears, leaving Maki with true zero cursed energy for the first time. After that, her physical ability jumps massively, she no longer needs glasses to see cursed spirits (because of her super-human senses she can just sense cursed spirits just like toji) , and her strength and speed end up on the same level as top-tier sorcerers even without using cursed energy. Hope this makes sense 🙏🙏

This ep was so amazing so was your guy's reaction the fights are INSANE 😂, but also you mentioned how Naoya beat up Choso but technically Choso beat him aswell by outsmarting him then Yuta healed Naoya with RCT, with who's stronger than who it's like what you guys said during the Yuji vs Yuta fight about how they compare eachothers fighting style to people they know, so for know you can say Maki is like Toji but with Jjk it's not just purely "this guys stronger" there's so many factors to it which makes it amazing

Well, imagine how much the mother also must have suffered. Yes, she obeyed all the clan rules but probably with so much resistance in her heart that she felt relieved (maybe) that Maki was strong enough to do what she couldn't (maybe). But hey... why else would she first end Naoya and then think that she's glad she gave birth to them?

Arian Abdolahy

Haha, Wes comment about how much you guys have cursed during this reaction while watching a show about curses was funny.

At this point I wish Gojo would've just wiped all of them out, not just the Zenin clan but the higher ups of the Jujutsu world.

I really didn't like the first half of that episode. It's (I personally think) a really bad adaptation of the Manga. I think they lean too much in the cinematography when the Manga was more raw. Also the music in the kill bill reference part is REALLY bad. The music should have been like Gojo awakening against toji, not weirdly funky. The second part is really good tho.

Also here a comment I did on another channel : Mai took all the curse energy they shared together (because they are twin) and created a OP weapon. Which finally made Maki heavenly restriction complete. If Maki died Mai would have a bigger pool of curse energy and could create broken curse tool on a whim. What i'm trying to say is that for twin in JJK to express his full potential, the other have to sacrifice himself, that's what Mai did, leaving her with a final gift to help her destroy it all.

29:50 In manga this was the point they stopped and took a break for few weeks!! It was like from this point onwards everything's gonna go to hell hahaha

Absolute masterpiece

"Why did you tell me to come back" and the mother being clueless - probably the shotcallers used her mother's namesake as the invitation. She was going to get killed anyway so I guess it was for Maki's own closure. Also, looking at the bullying from Naoya, I'm pretty sure he was stomping on her head. I did a double take too lmao

Dank Waifu

Maki killed all the Women and Children too I believe.

Just saw an explanation for the reed that Mai hands Maki. Apparently that and the title of the episode “perfect preparation” is supposed to be a reference to an old folk tale about geese. In it geese carry reeds in their mouths while migrating to have something to eat. During their migration they would leave it on an island to pick it up again on the way back. In that way they are prepared for the long journey. It basically means that when Mai dies she leaves a perfectly prepared Maki. One that can fully utilise her pact without their shared cursed energy.

Also, I've been thinking about the scene with her mother at the end. If you piece things together the sequence is: - she tells Maki something along the lines of "make me feel proud that I gave birth to you" - Maki kills everyone in the clan - her mom is finally proud of her I don't think she just randomly switched up at the end. It only makes sense that she wasn't treated any better than her two daughters, but she couldn't do anything about it. She asks Maki to come back like how Mai does. They've both resigned their fate to the clan and wish to keep Maki safe from the alternative. And Maki just wanted to create a safe space for her sister.. When you go out drinking and all you can think of is jjk, I'll be in the shower crying gn 😭🤙

Nina

Their father was willing to kill his daughters for being a disgrace to his name. Now imagine what he must have been like to his wife for giving birth to them. We know that the Zenin treat women harshly and that's probably putting it too nicely. She must have suffered just as much 😭

Bocchi Hitori

Also mentally prepared, I think the line “destroy it all” becomes a pact between Mai and Maki that Maki has to fulfill after gaining the legacy from Mai. Maki didn’t seem like she hates them all when she was doing this.

Sozzie

Maki killed every man, woman, and child in the zenin clan she could except of course my goat Megumi who would just low diff her

Chideraa Udegbulem

Pretty sure she only went after the fighters. The ones we see her kill and the people it said she got after but no more than that.

I spoiled myself on this episode just cus I wanted to see yall's reaction lol. It'll probably still hit when I see it full in context of the rest of the show tho. I wait until the whole show and dub is out before I watch an anime. So I gotta bit of time to go before then. Also the kill bill reference was absolutely intentional.
