Here's the full length reaction to the Theatrical Release of Troy! It seems like the reviews for this film are pretty mixed, but I enjoyed this one! The story is epic, and the movie has a great cast! Enjoy!

And if you missed my livestream this weekend, I have to wear my glasses for the next few days because I freaking scratched my eye while taking out my contacts (oops!). You'll probably get Glasses Addie for the next few reactions!

Happy Monday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the theatrical cut of Troy (2004). I own the 2007 Director's Cut on DVD and I can't wait to watch it soon. BTW, nice glasses.

I also own the theatrical cut on DVD as well, in both Widescreen (2.39:1) and Full-Screen (1.33:1) formats. The movie was shot in Super 35 by the late Roger Pratt, BSC. Here are some split screen comparisons between both versions. https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLtOMnlSXXOAiHndZiZxoOVwJ9V8MxwLEq&feature=shared

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 I enjoyed your livestream on Saturday. This is a great movie. One of my favorite Brad Pitt films. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. For more Brad Pitt, I highly recommend "The Devil's Own" from 1997. And for more Eric Bana, I highly recommend the 2008 "The Other Bolyen Girl". Have a great day today! 😊

Speaking of Eric Bana, I also suggest THREE Universal Pictures movies of his: The Hulk (2003), (https://youtu.be/Qi9X79LHsII?feature=shared), Munich (2005), (https://youtu.be/kuehOfHwnYY?feature=shared), & Funny People (2009), (https://youtu.be/kzciY15Q3BA?feature=shared). And for Halloween, I also suggest Deliver Us From Evil (2014), (https://youtu.be/2RR42oZX3-U?feature=shared), produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Scott Derrickson. #MoreEricBanaForAddieCounts

Also "Hanna" from Bana (yes, that rhymes 🤨), "A River Runs Through It, "Legends of the Fall," and "Killing Them Softly" from Pitt, and "Lawrence of Arabia" from Peter O'Toole.

And I second Legends of the Fall (1994). #LegendsOfTheFallForAddieCounts

One thing Brad Pitt and Addie have in common: They both have magnificent jawlines.

Hi Addie, 'Troy' is pretty accurate to Homer's epic, and the stylized fighting style of Achilles for the film is beautiful to watch. I've always heard rumors that 'Troy' hurt Orlando Bloom's career and recently Orlando stated that filming it wasn't a good experience. It sucks that now knowing this that Orlando working with Ridley Scott on 'Kingdom of Heaven' the year after didn't help, its a great film by the way (specifically the Director's Cut). Yeah, Sean Bean plays Odysseus. Addie, 'John Carter' (2012) is also a must-watch.

Speaking of director's cuts, in one of my super chats on her recent live stream, I asked Addie if she planned to watch the 2007 Director's Cut of this movie and she said that when she looked it up, it was already a long movie to her and didn't want to watch an even longer version of the movie. That's why she decided to watch the theatrical cut.

Troy isn't my favorite war movie, but I definitely think its 53% rating on Rotten Tomatoes is low. I'd give it a 7.5 out of 10, I think it's a perfectly fine movie! Its main downside is it's a little too long and the romantic subplot with Achilles and Briseis is a bit hard to swallow. (I mean yeah, to be fair she's encountering a young naked Brad Pitt in his prime, but still... talk about Stockholm Syndrome!) All that said, on the upside the fight between Achilles and Hector is one of my favorite film duels of all time! 😄 I love how its choreographed in such a way that you can tell Hector is a very good fighter, but Achilles is just a whirling force of nature all his own. His fighting style is entirely unique compared to everyone else in the entire film, and it's a ton of fun to watch. There are a lot of things in this film that I didn't find all that memorable, but that fight scene really stands out. (And while it's a shorter fight, Achilles first duel against the enemy giant champion at the start of the film is obviously hard to forget, what a strike!) P.S. The soundtrack is also quite good, especially the theme for the Myrmidons landing on the beach at Troy.

Not to mention she's already going to be watching the also well-over-3-hour "Dances with Wolves" in the next week or so... But, yeah, "Kingdom of Heaven" is one movie where one *needs* to watch the director's cut; it vastly improves the movie, as the theatrical cut is fairly mediocre.

Troy is one of my guilty pleasure movies. Will watch when I have time.

I haven't watched this one in a while, and I have to say it's really not bad. Maybe not a masterpiece, but it's fairly entertaining. There were a lot of scenes that were very effective. I feel like movies were held to a higher standard 20 years ago, and that's why we sometimes remember them unfavorably.

And another Brad Pitt movie that I'm also throwing in is the upcoming F1 (2025), produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Joseph Kosinski, the director of Top Gun: Maverick (2022). #F1ForAddieCounts https://youtu.be/txy5_jLbFX8?feature=shared
