TERRY!!!! 😍 OLD MAN BATS!!!! 😭 ACE!!!!!! 🐶

Let me know which episodes (if any) you'd like to see recorded live! Or if you'd like just reviews/general discussions! Pls remember I must prioritize my time as the reaction channel isn't my fulltime gig 💖

I hear you about Static Shock, so same goes as above--let me know of any important episodes to record a reaction to.

Batman Beyond Rebirth Reaction

Oh goodness... I can tell this is going to be more of a complication than it needs to be reading these comments... Most of what they saying about how you should react to the show, and what episodes shouldn't even matter 😂 It's the show order that's important (no I'm not talking year releases) Nevermind that... Great reaction. Those are not scares on Bruce's face though, those are wrinkles lol. Watching this episode a few times I'll have to disagree with your take on why Bruce stop being Batman. I don't believe it's because he picked up a gun. Of course we ALL know he would never use one, but I still think he picked it up, because he knew the guy would run away. He quit being Batman because his heart couldn't take the fast pace moves his body had to do for that job. At least that's what I've always took from that scene.

You brought up how similar Terry is to Spider-Man and you’re right as the writers were taking a lot of influence from Spidey. Both characters are teenagers who went through a tragedy. Both took it upon themselves to become heroes. Lastly both quip jokes which shows how different Terry is than Bruce when it comes to being Batman. I would also say they took inspiration from Spider-Man 2099 aka Miguel O Hara. I don’t remember if you seen the Spiderverse films but Miguel has similar vibes to Terry in that they’re both successors, living in a future full of corruption, and honoring the mantle of the legacy hero. Miguel debut in 1992 with his comics. Couple of years before Beyond came out.

"Very good then, Mister McGinnis. WELCOME TO MY WORLD." Dramatic music plays. This show rocks. Really hope you watch a bit more of this Meg. This was great. If you chose to react to select episodes please react to Meltdown which is episode 5 I think. It made me tear up as a kid. Still does. The situation with Bruce's company is explained by the reporters in the beginning of both these episodes. It comes up very fast and is easy to miss. They said that Mr. Powers did a "hostile takeover" of Bruce's company. I'm not exactly sure how hostile takeovers work but I'm assuming Derek Powers bought Bruce's company against Bruce's wishes. It's interesting that Terry's first impulse was not to kill the man who killed his dad, Terry tried to arrest him. Terry might have anger issues but he's a good guy deep down.

THIS WAS SOOO COOL. The music was very Vampire: The Masquerade vibes. I'm very very obsessed with this <3

Finally! I’ve been waiting for this since the end of Batman the animated series. Can’t wait for you to meet Terrys rogues and….a couple surprise guests from the past, and a movie that I personally feel rivals mask of the phantasm as one of the greatest DC animated films.

'Time takes everyone out. It's undefeated.' Tres schway, didn't expect to see this quite so soon. While I would prefer you catch all of Season 1 (S1 is all great but Season 2 has some weak ones), the recommended S1 standouts for me would be Meltdown, Shriek, Dead Man's Hand and the finale Ascension. Legendary theme song by Rob Zombie. This show also has quite the backstory, born from what sounds like a terrible idea. Marketing execs wanted the creative team to do a younger Batman set in high school with more kid/toy appeal. In order to avoid ruining all the good work they did with BTAS and STAS, the decision was made to advance the timeline into a harsh (well as harsh as an animated kids' show can get) Cyberpunk era, where a new face takes up the cowl under an elderly Bruce Wayne's mentorship. The lazy way to do it would be to have Dick Grayson or Tim Drake become the new Batman, but Terry McGinnis quickly become a fan favourite. Likewise it would've been easy to just revive old villains but Terry's rogues are brand-new.

So happy you watched this. You’d LOVE episode 3. I’d also suggest episodes 5, 7, 8, 11, and 13 from season 1.

I’d have to disagree with the reasoning behind him quitting. His face when he sees the gun? He’s horrified. Batman has come back from more physical defeats than we can count. It was this mental/moral defeat that made him throw in the towel. The fact that he was physically incapacitated to the point that he “broke” and picked up a gun, he broke his own code in way. He felt like he couldn’t trust himself anymore and maybe even that he didn’t deserve to be Batman anymore. That’s always been my opinion anyway.
