I would just like to comment THANKS FOR BRINGING SO MUCH LOVE TO DC

Spidey Productions

Such a great movie, honestly wished we had more Superman films in this continuity. Hope you check out other Superman projects when you have time, we all need that he brings!

Of the movies in the DCAMU, this is probably one of their best if not the best. Obviously as you read at the end, this movie is based on the comic of the same name, The Death of Superman from 1992. Interestingly enough, when DC announced this comic at that time, it actually made national news and you had people commenting about had sad they were that they were killing off Superman. If I'm not mistaken, the reason DC decided to kill him off at that time was because his comic sales weren't really doing good and so they thought killing him would shake things up. I also believe they felt that Superman was outdated and didn't fit with the modern times and even some fans felt the same too. Obviously he didn't stay dead forever and DC eventually brought him back cause they realized their mistake of how iconic he is. As someone once put so eloquently, Superman is a timeless character that doesn't adapt to the era he's in. Time changes around him while he stays the same. I will say as much as I love this movie, like most of the DCAMU, I do have my issues. Like the movie isn't a 1:1 adaptation of the comic as certain members of the Justice League in the comic aren't in the movie. Another thing to remember is that the DCAMU is based on the New 52 continuity, which is why Cyborg is a founding member of the Justice League and not a core member of the Teen Titans like he is in most continuities. The other thing the New 52 did was make Superman and Wonder Woman a couple but they didn't last long and it's why Clark and Diana mention how they broke up at some point offscreen and Clark is now seeing Lois. So Clark didn't cheat on Lois since Diana and him weren't a thing anymore. But I'm with you that Clark and Diana being a couple was a stupid decision they made and even though I don't really mind Diana with Bruce, I still don't like her being with either one of them cause it does nothing for her character. One other thing I don't like either and they did this with previous movies is just how John Stewart Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter are just there now and there was no formal introduction for them. Speaking of Martian Manhunter, his powers of going intangible has always been a power they've showcased the most in media outside the comics besides his shapeshifting abilities. Though this movie continues the trend of not showcasing his other powers like Martian vision (which is his version of heat vision) but they do show his weakness to fire since he was taken out so easily by Doomsday Speaking of Doomsday, you are right with what you read that Doomsday was created on prehistoric Krypton when there were just monsters and creatures roaming the planet. His father Bertron and Doomsday himself are technically not Kryptonians because as you read, it predates the Kryptonian race by about 250,000 years. It's unknown where Bertron came from but he decided to use prehistoric Krypton to create Doomsday because it was basically a death world at that time. I won't really go into his comic origin as I know you said that you plan to watch Variant Comics' History of Doomsday video and they cover him in more detail. But as sad as this was, I did enjoy this a lot. I also like how we got to see some characters that might be recognizable from the Superman 2025 movie. Like Cat Grant (although they made her black and not have blonde hair in this), Steve Lombard and Perry White. I do hope of the ones we saw in this movie like Bibbo Bibbowski and John Henry Irons (Steel) that they show up in James Gunn's DCU eventually. And from what you asked if Gunn would adapt Death of Superman for David's Superman. Maybe one day but I doubt it as we unfortunately already got that with Henry Cavill's Superman in Batman v Superman. It's a shame they adapted that though cause I feel like if they didn't and Gunn adapted it much later, it would hit so much harder like how everyone felt at the end of Avengers Infinity War and Endgame. But thanks for the reaction Meg! I can't wait for you to check out the sequel to this the Reign of the Supermen, which just like this movie, is an adaptation of the comic of the same name. Also I can't wait for more Batman Beyond and also whenever you react to the Injustice 2 cutscenes (I saw you wanted to put it on your poll for the next game you play but I honestly would much rather you react to it). Also if you want me to share the video again with you I can. I also can't wait for you to check out Superman Red Son as it is an interesting movie but also has some of my favorite music score

One of my favorites in the dcamu lineup and u hit the nail on the head about doomsday and how he’s the complete opposite of supes yet similar in various ways. This film is chalk filled with references too as well as other superman characters. In fact that old man u see with maggie in the very first scene where theyre fighting intergang is dan turpin who if u remember is the hot headed old cop who is maggies partner that ended up getting killed by darkseid in season 2 of superman the animated series. Cyborg in the comics was originally a member of the teen titans before joining the justice league later on. Also that scene where supes saves lois from dying in that helicopter crash and he says “you’ve got me, but whose got you”? Is a direct quote from the first christopher reeve movie where he also saves lois in a helicopter. Then that scene where superman is flying at doomsday high in the sky and wallops him with a punch is a direct reference to man of steel with henry cavill where he does the same move on zod with the same camera angle. Cat grant on the other hand is the daily planet’s gossip columnist so u can see why she acts the way she does because well she’s always gossiping lol. She was in the superman 2025 movie and has a few scenes with lois if u recall and so was steve lombard (the office creep). U already met both cat and steve in all star superman and they are in most superman adaptations along the usual jimmy, lois and perry appearances. Yes supes and wonder woman are a short lived thing in the comics that most people dont like but it ends quickly. In the conversation with his parents they mention lana who is clarks red headed high school girlfriend u already met in superman the animated series and lori lemaris is indeed a mermaid that supes was in a relationship with in the comics. There’s a big pattern there because supes tends to be involved with people who have the initials L.L. Like Lex luthor, lois lane, lana lang, lori lemaris, Lucy lane, Lara lor, lionel luthor, lillian luthor, lyla lerrol, lumma lynai, Lola la, linda lake and so on LOL and those post credit scenes u saw at the end of this film will make complete sense in the sequel so yea. Out of the multiple death of superman adaptations like superman:doomsday, batman vs superman and this. I think this is my favorite adaptation of that iconic superman arc. But one thing none of those other adaptations truly do is adapt the comic story that occurred AFTER death of superman. So thats where the sequel “Reign of the Supermen” comes in and im sure the fact it says “superMEN” is a big indicator anyways im excited.

IMO Cyborg should start a Titan then be the second to join after Wally.

In my opinion Grievous is the perfect villain for this arc because its about jedi younglings building their lightsabers and Grievous is someone who takes them as trophies.
