Injustice 2: Intro + Chapter 1

yea i think everyone agrees that the character designs and graphics are a huge step up from the first game and it makes sense because the first game came out in 2013 on the ps3 while injustice 2 came out in 2017 for the ps4 so at the time the game was a next gen sequel. I got both games back when they came out and injustice 2 blew my mind as a teen. There are rumors the third game is in development for the ps5 or ps6 so i hope thats true so they can finally wrap it up as a trilogy. Also whats cool is the voice cast of this game is the exact same as justice league the animated series and JL unlimited so in a way to me this felt like an alternate universe within that animated universe if that makes sense, like a spiritual successor. Also realized that this game’s batcave might be the inspiration for the batcave in the 2022 the batman film because both are set within an old gotham subterranean subway system and ive only ever seen that in those two depictions. Oh and as far as kara goes yea she’s depicted as clarks actual cousin in like 90% of adaptations and her ship was accidentally sent off course which was why clark lands on earth first and lives for around 30 or so years there before kara’s ship finally arrives too and she didn’t age because her ship kept her in a state of suspended animation. So its funny that she’s like 16-17 and he’s suddenly way older than her. But yea thats pretty much all the thoughts i have without going into spoiler territory

I didn't expect you to start Injustice 2 so soon but I'm here for it. I'm also glad you decided to watch the cutscenes (thanks for the shout out for video). You can clearly tell that the game is a real upgrade graphics wise since Injustice 1. I know the subtitles in the intro said that 52 Earths but the narrator said infinite Earths. I think the reason why it said 52 Earths is because this game released around the ending of the New 52 continuity in DC's mainline comics and during the Rebirth continuity where all the comics pre-New 52 became canon again after the New 52 basically said any comic beforehand is not canon to this new continuity. When it says Krypton-49, it is in reference to the Earth or universe the Injustice world is in, Earth 49. This was something that they established in the comics. So you could say that the "duplicate" heroes you saw in Injustice 1 are from Earth 1 and are our main universe version of our heroes and the Earth that Injustice takes place on is Earth 49. Basically the Injustice universe is the 49th Earth in the entire DC multiverse. I was going to mention it before you watched this but the special move that Batman does to Damian at the end of his chapter is his super move for this game. Just for further notice, the players you get to play as in the story mode, this person did include their super moves before their chapter ends. It won't be all the super moves from the game itself but it is some of them. Also I just love that you finally get to see Brainiac's iconic skull ship. Since we are getting him in the Man of Tomorrow movie, I am so hoping to see that skull ship on the big screen cause it'll look so cool and menacing. But I can't wait to see what you think as you continue onward with this game! Thanks Meg for the reaction! Also as you said in the video that you are going to be doing a video on the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow comic. I hope you do read along like you did with the Darth Vader comic or if you can't I'd be down for a review, similar to when you reviewed Batman Year One and Long Halloween with Caleb

Thoros of Mountains

Kara being Clark's cousin is the traditional origin for Supergirl. However, after 1985 there was a DC editorial mandate where they wanted Superman to be the only survivor of Krypton. So for a while there were several versions of Supergirl that explained her existence another way, such as her being a shapeshifting amoeba alien or the adaptation you saw in the DCAU where she was from another planet altogether and was adopted into the Kent family. By the time the DCAU was over, and they started doing movies, that mandate was not in effect anymore, so we started seeing more versions of the traditional origin again.

Omg I'll be sending a lot of good luck and good vibes that Injustice 3 is really in development. Hopefully with Gunn's DC success so far they will be more confident in moving it along!!
