The old guy at the beginning who was a bullet farmer is B movie actor Erik Estrada from the cop show CHIPS in the 1980s. I'm not sure if he was a former NCR ranger or if he just found that armor and using it in everyday life. I'm just assuming he found the armor. Also I love the plot twist that the vault 4 people are just really nice people, a complete twist from what they were implying last episode. Two SNL cast members this episode Fred Armisen who you mentioned and the cyclops guy is Chris Parnell aka Jerry from Rick and Morty. I think Armisen was funnier on SNL than Parnell but Parnell was always pretty solid. About the Cold Fusion thing, the big deal with Cold Fusion is that it's basically limitless energy maintained easily and cheaply. Regular fusion in fallout pre-war was still super expensive and resource expensive, so fusion cores and regular fusion power were probably super difficult to make in Per-war America. I guess that Cold Fusion solves all the issues of fusion. I feel like the show doesn't really explain the difference between cold fusion and fusion. So in fallout fusion and fusion cores are powerful but rare and expensive, Cold Fusion apparently was cheap enough that it would have ended resource scarcity.
