I spoke too soon on my previous comment lol with that said.. I’m sad we are not getting Pluto after monster :( and the next anime after Monster haven’t been decided yet but I can’t think of any long anime at this time. Hopefully is something with a great story and characters.

Now to be fair to the creator (Urasawa) , the style and way he draws characters is a bit weird since most of them either look too young or in their 40s lol so I don’t blame you if though Grimmer was more older than that. Ahh this is when the pieces are coming together.. look I won’t say much but I can tell you girls will enjoy Grimmer a lot more in future episodes <3

Grimmer is not 25 lol. He is much older than Johan. He's 44 here. I don't think this is a spoiler. I do not know what you mean by not being able to tell ages from drawings. Urasawa draws ages well. Every character is drawn in a way that matches their age.

About the director, he was talking about the current modern day kids being raised with love, not the kinderheim kids. He said it was his job to raise perfect citizens at kinderheim and it worked, but then Johan manipulated them all. That's why he was raising the current kids with love, so people like Johan can't influence them.

Kinderheim 511 was a fully functioning orphanage before Johan got there lol. Grimmer is in his 40s. Remember even the director who died said he wasn’t the director anymore by the time the revolution happened.

Soo a bit of timeline. Grimmer IS older. Kinderheim and its experiments had been happening for years. You gotta remember the time period of the show. 60s to 80s Eastern Europe was filled with a lot of....questionable stuff and experiments geared towards military/geopolitical power. Grimmer is around the age of Tenma.

Two things to think about to clear up some confusion - Kinderheim 511 was in operation well before Johan was there. The special investigators looking into Suk were not involved in the set up and were not sketchy but just legitimately investigating him.

In the setting, Grimmer was born in 1954. By the way, Tenma was born in 1958.

even a 50 year old can be from kinderheim, all the people killed were only the ones in the school, many childs were released before that as the boy killed by the detective while he was ''drunk'', johan says it too, and that's also why the director killed by johan didn't seem that bad, bc kinderheim yes was always sperimenting on kids and an awful orphanage but got even worse when johan came in that school. From what we know many people can be from kinderheim and living life normally

"this show is on fucking drugs" lmaooo all comments already said it but Grimmer is older. kinderheim existed way before Johan and was already an horrible place. They always brainwashed kids in there. And yeah Grimmer story is so good you're just at the beginning !
