Friday Chapters! (Patreon)

Welcome to Friday everyone yeehaw.
Is chapter 48 an ending? I don't know. I noticed, after re-reading chapter 49 that Theo pulled some punches on his thoughts. I added some stuff that reflects his state of mind going into chapter 1of book 2. He has some growth ahead of him.
So, what are my thoughts on book 1? Yeah, it's good. I like it. I'm planning on going through it soon and making a few revisions, but nothing major. I have no plans for rewrites. I don't like rewrites, I meant what I wrote. So, I'll likely just be adding and tweaking to reinforce the following points:
- Broken Tusk is poor. Dirt poor.
- The Tara'hek is magnetic. An unseen force that draws people together.
- Theo is incredibly charitable. If you read 49, you know why.
- Some folks on RR disliked the economy, but I think it's fine. Reinforce poverty, poverty, poverty.
The pre-edit version of book 1 will closely resemble the final "release" version. That's before my wife tears through it and makes her revisions, which who knows how that'll go. She, like me, leans toward the swords and sorcery genre as her preference for reading and she still hasn't read a word of this book. I'll release both all versions of the book here for the Patrons.
So, we have the current version which is the raw release with no edits. Then we'll have my edited manuscript, then wife's edited manuscript which is the final version.
Well, I'll say this book was a challenge to finish up. I was at chapter 30-something when I started the Royal Road release and I had 0 confidence in the story. I thought it was just some garbage I wrote to get away from the dark fantasy/horror I love writing so much. Pushing to the end was tough, but once I started writing book 2, I realized how much I liked the first one.
I have plans on writing a horror/comedy litrpg book on the side, but that's still in planning. I'll post a preview here before I post it anywhere else.
This is why I tag this post with "rambling" because look at us. Too many words for too little information. Enjoy the chapters. Thank you so much for your support. The people here are the people that keep me writing The Newt and Demon!
