Friday Updates! (maybe I should label these with the date) (Patreon)

Oh, look at that. My chapters are running out. We have 2 more weeks of chapters for 3rd tier, then we're on to book 3! Hooray!

There will be no break between book 2 and book 3 because there's something wrong with me. Before the end of January I'll post what chapters I have for "healer" and "fishing" for everyone to vote on, but I've been putting that off. Post-holiday fatigue is real.

When February rolls around, I'll have been writing without a considerable break for a year and something about that seems really weird. I basically wrote from February 2022 to June with the intent on launching my other series, which fell flat on its face. Hiccupped in July, spent some time redirecting, then shifted fully to Newt and Demon some time after that.

I'd just like to say that I have absolutely no idea how I keep pace with this story. Most web novels on RR do 5 chapters a week at 2k each, while I do 3 at 3k each (10k/week vs 9k/week yeehaw). I am not fulltime, so god knows how I'm keeping up.

In terms of my pace on book 3, I'm ahead of the curve, but behind my self-imposed demands. I'd have to write 3 chapters from today until Sunday to keep up with the pace I wanted. 30 chapters in a month seems like so few to me, for some reason. But I guess 90,000 words a month being part time is a lot. So, I have to write 3 chapters a week to stay at-pace, and anything more than that is ahead of pace.

Anyway, that's kind of nuts and bolts stuff. Even though I've been extremely busy with real work, I feel good about where I'm at. The plot for book 3 is developing effortlessly, to the point where I don't know if my "big reveal" can fit in the book without rushing the pacing. So the book is either going to be extra long, or I'll figure out something down the road.
