Sense you don't know which way to go. You let destiny decide it for you. You toss the coin (Heads go right, Tails go left). The coin landed on tails. You toss the coin one more time to see how you will travel (Heads you will walk, Tails you will fly). It landed on tails again so you will walk. So now you start your journey by walking to the left. This way leads up a ramp to higher ground. What do you see from the high ground?

Be watchful as you travel there might be some night creatures you might want to try and eat you but keep going

Maybe you can see the lights of a city in the distance already? It would make sense for there to be some, perhaps a fire, or street lamps. If not, try to find landmarks that you can use for orientation later. Do remember to be careful so you don't trip and fall, though.

Your trusty coin has chosen a ground path to the left leading to a ramp up to higher ground. Hopefully, you will be able to get a better view of distant objects from the high ground. You should be careful, though. There could be a pony patrol out this close to the border, so try to keep to any cover you can without sacrificing too much speed. And stay alert for any odd sounds, you may not be the only being using the night to travel. Perhaps if you rearrange your scarf, you could at least block your light spell to only shine forwards. Less chance of drawing attention if you can manage that.

You start humming on a melody as you walk uphill, when you get to a vantage point/High ground to see if you spot lights in the horizon or something that can vaguely remind you of a town in he horizon. At least getting uphill might tell you if you're walking in the right direction or not.
