Ahhhh!! An absolute classic movie and definitely one of my favorites for Halloween time!!

Donna Castellano

I keep getting "sign in to confirm you're not a bot" when I click on this. I resigned in and still getting it. Anyone else having this issue? My other Patreon subs work fine. It's just this upload, it seems.

Robert Robillard

I, Tried & It Works for Me, it could Be your Security Settings on YouTube - can't Really Confirm or Deny this, But it's something to Check Out.

Sayon

Y’all gonna react to the Zombieland sequel as well?

Rob M

William Atherton played such a great, slimy, obnoxious 80's bad guy....Die Hard, Real Genius, Ghost Busters.

Donna Castellano

I'm signed into YouTube, so I don't know what the issue could be. Looking back, all the other full lengths I've watched with everyone I'm dubbed to, outside of this one, don't have the YouTube icon on them. I tried to use their Patreon link at YouTube but it still won't let me into the reaction.

Randy

There is only 2 Ghostbusters movies

Mister Lou

That obnoxious-red-head-douche-canoe plays a very hatable guy well. I was revisiting this with you guys and, same I was just hating that guy again, and I was just thinking "I remember hating this guy before." and It wasn't until I read his name in the end credits that I realized he was the reporter-ass-hat in first 2 Die Hard movies.. (which I believe are also 80's movies) I can't wait to go through this series of movies with you two. the Good, The Bad and the McCarthy (and YES, I know she's gorgeous. It just fit the rhyme scheme)..

Mike Jenson

I'd love for you to do one of my favorites. Poltergeist

Jerramy Scoggin

One of my favorite things about the Ghostbusters movies is that they don't shy away from making the ghosts scary. Even though they are comedies, they made them feel more genuine by having the comedy come from the busters themselves, while maintaining the idea that what they were facing is, and is supposed to be, horrifying. Reitman and Ramis trusted the audience to latch on to the humor and cheer for the Ghostbusters because they were frequently terrified by what they were fighting, but still saved the day. They in fact had the tools, and the talent.

As others have said William Atherton is the quintessential 80s asshole. I'm just surprised you guys didn't make the connection between Die Hard 1 and 2 and him in this movie (he plays the asshole reporter in Die Hard). I thought you guys woulda picked him out immediately since you guys loved hating him in those two movies too. Now, to tie it all together, you need to watch Real Genius, and you'll get the William Atherton trifecta! :) Fun fact: Huey Lewis was approached to do the theme song for this movie, and he turned it down (they were about to do the songs for Back to the Future). So, they got Ray Parker Jr. and he did the Ghostbusters theme song. The problem was that it sounds almost identical to the main riff of "I Want a New Drug" by Huey Lewis and The News. So Huey took Ray to court and sued his ass. They ended up settling out of court for undisclosed terms. To this day, they can't talk about the case or settlement! Go listen to both main riffs, and you'll see right away Huey would have won that case had it gone to court, hands down. They're identical.

The Dana Barrett abduction scene is peak cinema for me, it's just perfect! That single tracking shot around the chair to reveal the kitchen door gives me goose bumps.

I appreciate your reactions a lot, but this movie was really boring for me. IT WASN'T BAD.... but I don't know the pacing was an issue for me. Sooo... I'll skip this one. Hope you understand... I liked the second one better. If you also do that one, I won't be skipping it.

Melissa Creel

You guys really need to do the original Beetlejuice next. PLEASE!!!!

Movieswede

Agreed! i was so sceptical considering the last try to restart this franchise. But Afterlife was a great wink to the original 2 movies and a good finale.

Michael Schweigart

I saw this movie in the theaters when I was a kid

Michael Schweigart

Hi, Media Knights! I was hoping to suggest a horror movie for you: *The Others*

Robert Robillard

Ari & Denise are VERY Understanding .. Besides Nobody is Obligated to Watch their Reactions, It's your Choice - I'm no doubt Sure, Both will always Understand your Choices to Watch or not Watch. No worries 👍

Next Ghostbusters 2, skip the subpar 2016 remake and then Ghostbusters Afterlife. Afterlife was better it had right to be, almost as good as the original..

This movie never disappoints; been watching it since it came to the theaters. So weird to see someone watching and NOT recognizing the legendary Annie Potts (Janine)!! It's got so many quotable, fun lines, so many ridiculous physical moments - just a great movie all around. I never cared for the 2nd movie, though it's not terrible. LOVED the 2016 quasi-reboot, and then the following in-universe sequels were also fun. Hope you enjoy!

Such a classic. Ramis and Aykroyd wrote a fun feelgood movie and then cast their friend Bill Murray in it. I can't imagine Murray actually read his lines, I imagine he is ad-libing 90% of what he is saying. But the fact that Ramis, Aykroyd and Murray are old friends really shines through and the audience gets the feeling of being part of this group as well. Hudson fits in nicely as well. Sigourney Weaver has fun in her part and takes it just enough serious to make it interesting. Like somebody mentioned in another comment, the fact that they have the scientific angle and the ghosts aren't silly (sure the marshmallow man is cute, but also sort of horrifying) makes the humour actually work because the Ghostbusters are the funny ones. All the practical effects work really well and the camera work is excellent. Sure, some of the trickier effects don't hold up to 100%, but those scenes are actually quite few. Most of it looks excellent, to be honest. The sequel is just as fun, I highly recommend it.

Bring on more 80s! I find it amazing that gems like these are not only unseen, but appreciated and enjoyed by new generations. Imagine in 100 years the catalog of movies people will have access too 80's movies I think will get interesting reactions; The Breakfast Club, Stand By Me, and, Fatal Attraction.

Cameron Kerby

Your reaction to this gem made me subscribe to you on Patreon. I’m glad I did. Can’t wait to watch other full length reactions.

Grimbane42

I enjoyed the 2016 one as well. It lives in its own universe apart from the rest and thats fine with me. It was a fun premise and the mansion at the beginning is such a good scene. I think they should watch all of them and then watch the 2016 one. The hate for it is kind of childish in my opinion. Oh it isn't hammering nostalgia into my blood stream I must hate it.

Grimbane42

I truly hope they don't listen and do watch all of them including the 2016 one. You do a reaction channel to react to just the ones everyone likes, you see why people don't like one and develop your own opinion.

Steve Manson

Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2 are comfortable classics. Both fantastic

TheMediaKnights

We had an amazing time watching the first one. We honestly can't wait to dive deeper into the franchise!

TheMediaKnights

80's films have a certain kind of charm that we thoroughly appreciate and to be honest with you we've been able to learn lots from them as well. Less is more and that is the most important lesson we've learned from these films. How to make less more impactful and truly interesting.

TheMediaKnights

Completely agree with you! Most of the effects also work because it can all be summed up as a "Stylistic choice" something you'd only see in the Ghostbuster's realm. We had a blast getting to meet this crew! Can't wait to see what comes next 😄

TheMediaKnights

Not every film can be for everyone! We totally understand. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us ❤️ Our plan is to continue watching!

David W Richards

I have loved watching ALL of the Ghostbusters movies INCLUDING the one starring "the chicks". And if you ever get to GB Afterlife be sure to remember to wait for the after credit scene. IMHO it is as epic and as satisfying as any MCU after credits.
