Have you both seen any other Tarantino films? If not, looking forward to your journey down this path. My favorites will always be Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2, but I've enjoyed all his movies. I really need to watch the extended version of The Hateful Eight. It's like miniseries length.

That scene in the cafe always sticks out to me. I have been a server and I have delt with people that didn't "believe in tipping" not realising our salary came from tips. I still have a soft spot for servers and overheard someone at another table once ranting about not paying a tip. Not his problem, yada yada... so when we left my husband and I left enough of a tip to cover what they should have left. That being said the cafe scene is great at setting up the characters and we absolutely love this movie. Michael Madson is brilliant. His dancing around while he carved up the hostage is so iconic and unnerving.

Yes, first Tarantino movie I’ve ever saw, still one of my favorites, hopefully Hatefull 8 and Once upon a time in Hollywood is next?

I think you would really enjoy the series the 12 monkeys as well. I like to adaptation they took on the movie version.

The Vega's were brothers and there were discussions of making a Vega brothers prequel. Tarantino kept it on the back burner until he felt the guys were too old to make a prequel.

So, you're right, no one survives except Pink. But, as Denise said, if you listen carefully, you can hear Pink get arrested in the background of the final scene after he leaves the warehouse. There are shots fired, and he apparently gets shot, but does survive. Mr. Orange is also foreshadowed as the rat the entire movie. In the "I don't believe in tipping" scene at the beginning of the movie, when Joe comes back and asks who didn't throw in, Mr. Orange, without hesitation, immediately rats out Mr. Pink as the one who didn't, and gave up the entire reason why unprompted. There's also a couple visual clues that you'd be forgiven for missing. When White and Pink are talking by the sink at the beginning about the robbery gone bad, there's a bunch of what look like cleaning bottles on a long table. There's 4 off to one side (3 pink and 1 white), and a few orange ones off on their own. This indicates that there are 4 robbers on the level, and orange is off on his own and not really part of the team. The other one is incidental, and was an accident, according to Tarantino. When Nice Guy Eddie is on the phone in the car talking about the botched robbery on the way to the warehouse for the first meetup, an orange balloon can be seen trailing beside the car.

You should check out True Romance if you haven't seen it. Tarantino wrote the script. He had three scripts at the time...he sold True Romance and Natural Born Killers to get money to make this movie. Harvey Keitel did a lot behind the scenes to get this made too.

Fun fact, Mr Blonde and Vincent Vega from Pulp Fiction are brothers in the Tarantino universe ! (Edit… yeah, I know, I commented before you connected the dots). Also, Eddie is played by Chris Penn, brother of Sean.

I think you would love Natural Born Killers. The whole movie feels like a fever dream. I've never seen anything like it, before or since. Quentin wrote it (sorta). There's a whole story about his relationship with NBK. He hated it for a while, and then didn't. Or something. It's a confusing story. But it's a great movie

I'm sure they will - They have many Requests., It, Might take Time. I've also Requested this as well.

I love this movie. The way it is made in terms of script, budget and camera work Tarantino really forces the actors to carry the scenes. Like you said, it's like a play, so there are no effects or directorial trickery that you can use to cover for bad acting or poorly written scenes. If you do something like this, everyone and everything has to be on point. And boy, do they deliver. Keitel is fantastic, Roth is amazing, Madsen is terrifying and Buscemi panics phenomenally. Everyone in this movie brings their A-game and it shows they all wanted to be there. Keitel really wanted to do this movie and helped out a lot in making the whole project getting made. As always, the dialogue is amazing. As always in a Tarantino movie, he knows how people talk and it's always natural. Now, there is still some of the Tarantino classics that you need to visit. The big ones are of course Jackie Brown and The Hateful Eight. Personally, Jackie Brown is not my favorite, but it is a love letter to old blaxploitation films so from that perspective it is still great. The Hateful Eight is amazing and you should really not miss it. Also, if you want to check out more great movies about undercover cops I have to recommend Donnie Brasco. Johnny Depp and Al Pacino, do I need to say more?
