Comments

Robert Robillard

Ari & Denise .. Hi 👋 You Both just made MY., Entire Weekend‼️ I, was Hoping that You would .. eventually get to this one & Both of You, Didn't Disappoint 👌 This Movie 🎬 by far, in MY opinion .. the Best Action Movie, with Sylvester Stallone & Wesley Snipes., facing each other in Battle of Conflict & Honor 🎖 Thankyou for this Reaction - Best Regards, Cheers 🍻 & HUGs 🫂 to MY., Friends 🧡 👀 You., at your Next Reaction‼️ • I, left a REPLY for Ari's Response in "Direct Message"

Melissa Creel

Love this movie so much. When Wesley Snipes was thawing out the other criminals and he said "I hope my butt didn't look like that!" it was something he ad-libbed. That line gets me every time.

Amper Sand

Those who made Demolition Man were definitely big, even huge fans of Woody Allen's 1973 Sleeper :) On a different note: I've always said this movie is one which nailed the future the best in so many aspects: Schwarzenegger governor, language censorship, "unhealthy" food, smoking, intelligent devices, autonomous cars, virtual sex, handshaking, zoom meeting...

Melissa Creel

So Sandra Bullock's character Lenina Huxley was named after Aldous Huxley, the author of Brave New World, and Lenina Crowne, a central character in the novel. So this is definitely meant to be an action/comedy take on that novel and concepts. I personally think it was done brilliantly. Stallone and Snipes are both amazing in this movie and Sandra Bullock is so good in this as well. I love this movie so much..

Beat Conductor

Quick note, this movie is not depicting fascism. That was Starship Troopers. What we are seeing here is purely authoritarianism. Fascism is the combination of authoritarianism and ultra-nationalism. The ultra-nationalism is the key defining difference between authoritarianism and fascism.

I saw this in the theater when I was 10. Loved it. First R rated movie I think I saw in theaters.

Melissa Creel

When they first meet Friendly underground the guy standing behind him is Jack Black. Also Dennis Leary that played Friendly used to do some great stand up and it's pretty funny. It is a lot like his dialog at the end of the movie but more profane.

Melissa Creel

You guys need to watch the original Rambo: First Blood if you haven't yet. This one is more grounded than the later ones. It is based off a book about a war hero after he returns from Viet Nam. Yes, there is cool action but it also has something to say and one of the last scenes Stallone acts his ass off. One of the best scenes he has ever done.

Zachary Hill

Speaking to your rant at the end, I saw a 5 second video of a cat that was age restricted because it had the f word in it.

chojja

One thing i noticed while rewatching with you guys, is that in my version of the movie the restaurant is not a Taco Bell but Pizza Hut. Im not sure why i guess its because Taco Bell doesnt exist in Europe (at least in France).

Ludus Aurea

Oof, sat down to watch and discovered this is one of several hundred shows/movies i lost when a drive died. Anyway that's rectified, let's gooooo

Your reaction and commentary was exactly what I was hoping for, always so enjoyable to hear intelligent people comment something they have passion for and also at the same time appreciating the art itself and not losing the forest behind the trees. Its so good to see the fun side of portraying the future, even with its misery and problems and I think in the 80s and 90s movies they did it so well. Its like today we are so afraid of the future and what it brings that we forgot about the cool and good stuff. Also I strongly believe that limiting budget and technology will cause anyone to think outside the box "now how the hell are we going to achieve this?" is, in my opinion, good start to something creative and or interesting, it doesn't always end up being quality but there is something to it that seems to be lost today. I think the scariest dystopian concept comes straight from Orwell and its the newspeak, destroying language and removing words and meanings so that one cannot commit a thought crime, thought crime in itself is a terrifying concept but not allowing you to express yourself because there are no words for you to do it or you don't even understand the meaning of your feelings scares the hell out of me. Lastly if you ever have cravings for something low budget, completely unhinged and insanely fun I would recommend movies from Peter Jackson's early career Bad Taste, Braindead and Meet the Feebles. Especially when you have seen his masterpiece The lord of the rings, these might really surprise you.

what a Guilty Plesure! very good aged

Hi .. for your Information: Taco Bell was changed to Pizza Hut in the International Release of the 1993 movie Demolition Man because Executives were concerned that International Audiences wouldn't be as familiar with the Taco Bell chain as Pizza Hut. All the Best, Cheers 🍻

There are 2 Sci fi Action Comedies I watch at least once a year cause they just make me feel good, like comfort food. Demolition Man and The Fifth Element. So excited to see you react to this.

Daniel Karlsson

Demolition Man is one of those forgotten gems. The world building and sets are well done. The story is great and a lot more clever than you would think at first watch. The acting is good overall. Stallone plays Stallone in the 90s (which is fine, we all need it sometimes), Snipes is excellent as the psychotic Phoenix and Bullock is hilarious. Most of the other acting is mixed, but sufficient. The world and story is so good it doesn't matter that sometimes the acting falls off a bit. The action and effects are good and holds up fairly well overall. Some nice cinematography in a few moments as well. I love when you dive into these older movies, it's so much fun seeing people discover the stuff I grew up on. There are so many good ones left for you guys to see, I hope you get around to watch them. Some recommendations: Payback (1999) Escape From New York (1981) Johnny Mnemonic (1995) The Shadow (1994) Tron (1982)

"We're going into this completely blind"... oh good :)

Hola! Servus! Hello! My favorite YouTube/Patreon duo! Muchas gracias por ver esta película!! I completely forgot the name of it, und ich hab versucht, danach zu suchen, seit ich es als Teenager im Fernsehen gesehen hab. I forgot who actors were of the main characters. Me and names, not a good match. So thank you again for watching it and bringing me a piece of nostalgia that I needed and missed! Hasta pronto amigos! Ps. When are you going to dive into Arrival? Ich warte (ungeduldig) schon ne weile darauf, dass ihr es euch anschaut 🤭

Michael G. Munz

It's been so long since I saw the full movie, but I saw this one in the theater and had a blast (even if the amount of societal change in such a short time doesn't make too much sense if you think about it... What's the rest of the world like?)

Zachary Hill

Honestly the worst thing about this universe is that every restaurant is Pizza Hut. You can't tell me that salt is illegal because it's unhealthy but Pizza Hut is chill.

Donny C

Demolition Man, Cliffhanger, Tango & Cash. Peak Stallone action. Since ya’ll live in NY, Daylight.

Flick Freaks

This is such an underrated film. I love it so much.

Robert Robillard

If it's on their List - I'm sure they will get to it., in-Time. They have alot of Requests to get too - Be patient as I'm sure, Ari & Denise would appreciate that..

TheMediaKnights

It is actually on our list, we wanna check out the og one and the newer one with Karl Urban! Thank you so much for the support and kindness y'all, we appreciate you!

TheMediaKnights

The movie really is a blast, we loved the action and the comedy! True thought, how did things change that quickly?! Would have loved to explore the lore on the world even more, it was just too fun to witness!

TheMediaKnights

Hahah honestly, it was amazing that we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into, because it made the experience even more fun!

TheMediaKnights

Servus, es ist immer so toll von Ihnen zu hoeren! Was fuer in Film war das denn, das ist ja richtig toll!! Thank you for always being awesome and giving both of us so much joy by writing in all these languages! Arrival is on our list for sure, wir haben sooo viel zu tun, aber es wird definitiv schon passieren!! Liebe Gruesse!

TheMediaKnights

Forgotten gem sounds right, because we were shocked how we hadn't even heard of this movie!! It was such a blast and these older movies is always a guaranteed feel good vibe! Those recommendations are fantastic, thank you, adding them to our list!

TheMediaKnights

Yesss, comfort food exactly!! It just feels homey, cozy and makes you feel so good and happy afterwards! Hope you enjoy!!

TheMediaKnights

Noooo a drive died?! We are so so sorry, honestly, it's heartbreaking when that happens! Hopefully you can recover everything soon! Thank you for the support, hope you enjoy!

TheMediaKnights

YOU'RE JOKING?! It's getting out of hand, seriously, and then you have videos with people using slurs that somehow stay up, but no, the f word is the true villain here. Sheesh!

TheMediaKnights

What a fantastic comment, first of all, thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to type this out and give us your recommendations! Absolutely agree with you when you mentioned the portrayal of the future nowadays - we could all benefit from being a little more optimistic, especially when times are dark. That's when it's the most important! That's why this movie is such a gem to us, because whilst yes, there is some bleakness and darkness in that future, it retained levity to show that, as long as we stick together and show understanding and compassion, nothing is insurmountable.

TheMediaKnights

Oooohh Rambo is on our list, we're definitely gonna get to that very soon! We have a bunch of Stallone classics we have yet to cover so we're super excited for that one, especially after your comment about his acting!

TheMediaKnights

Oh no way, we gotta check that one out too! Adding it to our list! And yes, the way they called certain things from way back when is actually eerie! Wonder how they feel about how things are now??

TheMediaKnights

Thank you for the kind words, and support, and for bearing with us, we try to get to everything as soon as our schedule allows! We're so glad you enjoyed our reaction, reading that made our day! Much love!

Ludus Aurea

Oh it's fine, not the first time it's happened unfortunately. It's funny because I also sat down to watch a Game of Thrones watch along and discovered the first two seasons were gone and undoubtedly it'll happen again. Thanks!

Ludus Aurea

You are fined one half credit for violation of the verbal morality statute.

Ludus Aurea

Fun fact that 80 other people probably already posted. In the European release and maybe everywhere but America, Taco Bell was replaced with Pizza Hut. I'm not sure why, some sort of copyright issue, which is funny because the same company owns both Pizza Hut and Taco Bell, now, but when this movie came out Pepsi owned Taco Bell and the current owner of both - Yum - owned Pizza Hut.

Tara

I love this movie, Wesley Snipes is great as a bad guy. Another great movie that he was in was To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything. It also has Patrick Swayze and John Leguizamo. It is super different from anything any of them have been in.

imperial

All these years I had NO idea there was a Pizza Hut version, until I saw the reaction on The Perfect Mix channel a few months ago. I thought I woke up in another timeline I was so confused! Pizza Hut makes more sense but I think Taco Bell is funnier.

Osiris66

Saw this in the theater as a teenager, classic 90s action. check out the running man, primal fear, and really new Jack city.

Seth

You guys should watch "Last action hero" perfect film for you... 1993 action film staring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Charles dance (game of thrones)

Stephen Caveney

Love this movie. Both Wessley and Sly were excellent in thier parts, polar opposites if you will (pardon the pun), Loved both of your usual in depth reaction and in depth review of movie. Other Stallone classics I would love you guys too react to are - Cobra, Assassinns, Tango & Cash (also with Kurt Russell),The Specialist. Aso some Snipes movies, other than Blade Series are also -New Jack City, The Waterdance (Snipes showing another facet of his acting skills), White men cant Jump (also with Woody Harrelson), Passenger 57, Money Train (also with Woody Harrelson). see you guys in the next one.

Klyde

I am not sure whether that you guys know the actor that played Dr. Raymond Cocteau, he is Sir Nigel Barnard Hawthorne, who is really known for playing Sir Humphrey Appleby on the outstanding brilliant comedic BBC series “Yes Minister”. You guys should watch that series. You will laugh till you cry, for two reasons… one it is witty as all hell and second you will come to the scary realization that it is all true!

Donna Castellano

Theres a deleted scene where Spartan finds his daughter. You can actually see her in the film - she's the woman he's protecting when Phoenix attacks them underground. His daughter was one of the Scraps.

Einherj

You would love Last Action Hero (1993)

Insufferable Smartypants

If you like comfort buddy movies with heart and action, A Knight's Tale (Heath Ledger).
