Wifey and I are in Tampa, FL. We would've been DOA when the first fragment hit lol so at least we wouldn't have to deal with the looting, rioting etc... #SilverLinings.

I would have been Audi 5000 as soon as I seen all them planes. Be prepared folks, always have plenty of food and water on hand. A bugout Bag. The day we had that solar eclipse this year was scary because every road was jammed with people traveling to go see it. Showed how f'd we are if we have to evacuate somewhere.

Unfortunately, because of how the US operates, the vast majority of the general population does not have the money to stock up and be prepared. Which would just help the government and the ruling class survive the event anyway.

It’s not like they don’t bump things up, or put in new releases as soon as they come out on digital. I doubt it’s just chronological, it has to be an overall interest level as well.

The movie 2012 actually came very close to getting it right. If anything like this were about to happen the federal government, military leaders, key scientists, the wealthiest businessmen and the most notable entertainers and athletes would all be evacuated before the rest of us had any semblance of what was coming.

I always have a hard time with how dumb they make the characters in stuff like this. For example, I get that her son's sugar is low, but her husband had insulin. Why not try to find him or wait at their car for a bit? I'd take a chance with that rather than walking off and trying to find a random drugstore. But that wasn't even THAT much of a problem, because I get it...it's a 50/50 chance. But when she got in a car with strangers while being unarmed?! WTF? Who does that? Terrible idea. But that wasn't even the worst part. As soon as the woman said something about the people getting selected I would've taken off my and my son's arm band immediately. Then I would've gestured to him to stay quiet. Obviously people are going to be looking to take advantage of that. Plus Gerard Butler's character doesn't even try to hide his wrist band either. Are they utterly stupid?! Idk. I just feel like the average person would be aware enough not to make these errors. Immediately when they left I looked over at my brother (was watching with him) and said they should take off their wrist bands. There was a bunch of other stuff too. I just think it's a bit lazy because they used their ignorance to drive the plot.
