ok, I'm gonna say it. I hate that people refrain from saying the word zombie. These are zombie movies, even though the whole thing is based on an infection. They're zombies, and I'm tired of pretending they're not :))

I view them as "zombie variants" because they come in all styles, but if the creator specifies them as otherwise that's fine for me too.

Wow awesome reaction guys... not gonna lie I ALMOST teared up at that one really sad scene as well lol. It was an awesome film that definitely stacks up to its predecessors nicely with some great modern technological updates along with amazing emotional depth and delivery of key scenes! It's still impressive as ever that they decided to do all the recording with iPhones!

I absolutely second the recommendation for annihilation. Garland EXCELS with the writing. The set design is also incredibly fascinating. Casting is top-notch and the movie is nothing short of a sci-fi horror variant that continues to surprise. Bought it from the apple store when it first came out as "Editor's Pick" at the time. Was way out of my wheelhouse back then, no regrets even now
