YAY! I was hoping you guys would get to it sooner than later.

Donna Castellano

Glad you both enjoyed this one. Saw this in the theatre and it was even better on a big screen. This is my second favorite of the series, mostly because of Lucy. She's a great "strong female character", IMHO. And it's my head cannon she and Matt end up dating 🤣. Len Weisman suffered physically and emotionally making this film but he brought the proper respect to DH and the franchise. All while putting his own style to it, like you mentioned. Highly recommend checking out Kevin Smith talking about his time on this movie. How one day of shooting turned into like a week for him. It's on YouTube. Search up "Kevin Smith Die Hard story", it should pop up. Really shows how much Willis cares about McClane as a character. Dunno what happened to that when 5 was made, but 5 doesn't exist. In all seriousness, the film franchise ends here for me. Saw 5 in the theatre and actually a third of the way through almost asked my friend if she wanted to leave, it was so bad. When I told her that after we left, she said, "I was almost gonna ask YOU that!". Thanks for taking the time to react to this series. I can't remember if you've seen True Lies yet or not, but you'll love that since you enjoyed this one and it's style of action. If you have done for the channel, definitely lemme know and I'll watch along with that one ASAP!!!

Another fantastic reaction as always. I'm glad to see you're both doing well. As much as I love this movie, it also stokes a genuine fear of the cyber attacks becoming a reality. One of the things this movie touched on was how Matt said "It took FEMA 5 days to get water to the super dome." It's sad because it's true. The United States, as much as I love my country and proud to have served it, we are a reactive nation, not a proactive one. It takes major events/disasters/attacks to change up how we respond to situations. Examples, the Kansas City Bombing, we saw an increase in funding for federal agencies to monitor more extremist activity. The World Trade Center Bombing, saw increased security in New York and the WTC itself. But still it was insufficient and not enough to prepare us for worst case scenarios. After 9/11 is when the United States ramped up, military and security measures. New York Police and Fire upgraded communication systems, have functional command centers and clear communication in chain of command. Today we are definitely prepared to handle any external threats, the problem is, we are so focused on the forces outside our borders that we never have enough eyes inside our own. And that's a problem because we still need to improve on internal response. Hurricane Katrina had one of the worst responses from Federal and local government resources/organizations. FEMA took days to restore running water in ONE location for refugees. New Orleans Police had a breakdown in rank and file, because you had officers trying to restore law and order with what they had and they were SEVERELY outnumbered. There was also incidents of officers on power trips committing murder. The National Guard tried their best to assist during their initial response, but because so many units, NG/Active Army, from across the country were dispatched it was a logistics nightmare trying to coordinate. FEMA tried to get mobile trailer homes for all the displaced residents, could barely get a 10th of the number of trailers they requested. In the aftermath of Katrina, the federal government improved in natural disaster response....just barely. There was still logistical nightmares in other disasters, the tornado in Joplin, Hurricane Harvey in Texas. Each time a major disaster results in massive loss of life, federal and state emergency resources improve for the next disaster, but as of now we are still under-prepared. The events we see in the movie would be considered "The absolute worst case scenario" and while this level of attack on the US infrastructure is a possibility. It's more unlikely. Having worked disaster relief and crisis response training with local/state/federal agencies, the sad and scary reality is it wouldn't take much to cause a breakdown in infrastructure. The shut down of transportation, while a good way to cripple the infrastructure, isn't the best. Because once first responders are able to coordinate cleary and maintain communication, it'll take less than a day to reestablish transportation, mainly by just keeping police officers positioned to keep traffic going until the transportation network is back up. Crippling the financial network like we saw in the Wallstreet scene, while also a possibility is more unlikely than Crippling transportation. Another sad reality is, the financial markets have more security, because governments and corporations value money more than they do human life. So hitting the stock market wouldn't last long. Trying to shut down the power grid, is the most unlikely scenario do to the level of security the Department of Energy invests. Central Hubs, Nuclear Reactors. All places have a LOT of armed security and unless you have an army, good luck trying to shut those down. Last thing we'd want is a potential Chernobyl incident here. All of those scenarios combined would absolutely cripple our infrastructure. But there's one scenario that can actually cripple our infrastructure, and that's Shutting Down Communication. We as people need to communicate with one another mainly to function as a society. To know what's going on in the world or our day to day lives. But communication is also VITAL to 1st Responders. Anytime there is a breakdown in communication for Police, Fire, EMS, it leads to misinformation. I'll give 2 examples The Las Vegas Shooting and the Pulse Nightclub Shooting in Orlando. During both shootings, people that were shot were being rushed to hospitals by friends and or loved ones. Understandable. You don't want to lose your friend or family member and getting them to the hospital instead of waiting for EMS increases their chances of survival However, during both shootings, when people started arriving at the hospitals with gunshot wounds, hospital staff weren't aware of the mass shootings yet. They would dial 911 to inform them of gunshot victims and then dispatch would relay that information to police officers already on scene of the actual shootings. This is where the breakdown in communication for 1st responders led to misinformation. Because at the time several officers are on the radio trying to report the situation from their perspective. Officer 1 is reporting gunfire from this location Officer 2 is reporting how many wounded Officers 3, 4, and 5 are reporting gunfire hitting close to them and so on so on Because so many officers were trying to relay information while at the same time, set up a casualty collection point for EMS to treat the wounded, now Dispatch is reporting to police the gunshot victims at the hospitals. Because hospital staff wasn't aware of the Shooting, many people bringing the wounded in were in a state of panic or shock that they weren't properly relaying the correct information and they weren't arriving by ambulance, this led Police to believe, in both shootings that this was a mass terror attack and that there were multiple shooters, the initial one, and now what they believe is shooters at hospitals. This led to 1st responders scrambling in all directions to secure sites, hospitals while containing the initial threat. Communication is vital. Breakdown of Communication leads to Misinformation. Misinformation leads to Rumors. Rumors lead to Fear. Fear spreads like a Wildfire. This right here is the worst case scenario that requires the least effort. Shutting down phones, internet, and emergency communications and the clock starts ticking. When dispatchers don't answer the 911 calls, and people realize help isn't coming that's when chaos erupts. In reality. All it would take is 15 minutes for an entire city to lose control of law and order. Throw a little clip of the Capitol Building or White House blowing up like we saw in the film for every TV across the country to see and now, the cycle is complete and the fear has spread like wildfire. ......I need to stop with these long informative comments. I am so sorry I went on that tangent. I really enjoyed your reaction to this.....please don't react to the 5th one. It doesn't exist in most of our eyes. Let it end here. Side note, I hope to see you continue with the Lethal Weapon films and if you go back to 80s films I recommend Rambo. I hope I didn't annoy/scare the heck out of you with this comment. You both enjoy your weekend and I look forward to the next movie reaction

The French parkourist is in an amazing French movie called district 12 which i highly recommend. It was also remade to an American version called Brick Mansions with Paul Walker and the original lead character from the French version.

We are definitely gonna continue Lethal Weapon and Rambo is on our list and we look forward to covering that soon. Maybe February? Thank you so much for watching this with us. It truly means the world ❤️

She was such a badass! She definitely carries her fathers spirit. We are both hoping they ended up together. Matt is a great dude! A day of shooting turned into a week!? We have to look into this. It seems Bruce Willis really wanted to maintain that quality. It's always great to see actors become more and more involved with the franchises they are starring in.

I love that John is also continually shocked that he survives all this nonsense :D
