dieselbeast

Skull Island is my favorite but Godzilla vs Kong is my second favorite and OMG cant wait for Kong and Zilla to team up in GODZILLA X KONG!

Christian

Two alpha titans face off finally. From trying to kill each other here to becoming brothers in arms from respect, the next film Godzilla x Kong is gonna be fire!

Seshen

Got my line up then! Deadpool first with you guys then this! I gotta admit I was going for Kong in this one. But G-Zill kind of won this round. Can't wait for the next movie coming out!

BERSERKER KING REVIEW'S

Are you planing on checking out Apple plus Monarch: Legacy of Monsters? Is apart of this world

This was a really fun movie! It kind of reminds me of Moonfall with all of the over the top conspiracy stuff that they put in which I think is really fun. One of the interesting things that I wanted to mention having studied physics as an undergrad is that if you do the math you actually find that the gravity inside of a hollow Earth, or really any hollow shell with approximately uniform density, is actually zero everywhere. They kind of got it with the part where the rocks are floating at the midpoint between the two terrains, but it would actually be zero everywhere because the force vectors pointing to the "walls" of the shell cancel out at any point within the shell, so the whole idea of gravity reversing when reaching the hollow earth isn't exactly accurate, but I still think that it is really cool since I don't think that movies always need to be totally realistic.

Good reaction! To answer some questions: This is more of a Kong movie and Godzilla was misunderstood here. He does show a bit of arc this film and the next one of having to let go of his rage to help someone he viewed as an enemy. You can see he viewed Kong as a worthy opponent and spared him. You guys were right, Ghidorah was still alive and inside Mechagodzilla. This was the real reason why Godzilla was so aggressive the whole movie. He sensed Ghidorah’s presence every time Apex activates Mechagodzilla so he goes to the facilities to make sure that dragon doesn’t return. However his rivalry with Kong got him distracted and the hollow earth power source brought Ghidorah back controlling the mech. Godzilla reasons for hating Kong outside of alpha status is more personal because he’s way older than Kong and was there during the war between their species. Probably witnessed members of his kind killed off by the Kong species. In Kong’s temple, you can even see a Godzilla skull where the axe was put in. Godzilla sensed where Kong was and probably had a PTSD moment and blew a hole to hollow earth as a way of avenging his fallen species. At the end, both our Godzilla & Kong gain mutual respect and made a truce so Kong didn’t surrender & they’re not friends…yet.

I have loved watching you guys react to this cool universe, but I do hope you guys watch “Godzilla Minus One” which is very separate and very different. It’s not only the BEST GODZILLA film I have ever seen, it is one of the BEST movies of 2023 hands down. Tons of critics and reactors have put this movie in their #1 Spot for 2023 and I completely understand why. I can’t wait to hear your commentary on this one!

The Amazing Webhead

Godzilla and Kong are similar in that they are the last members of their kind that is until the New Empire trailer where there are more apes so Godzilla is really now the only one who is alone. The only one he had a connection to was Mothra but while that is tragic, he has a responsibility to protect the planet and that’s his focus right now.

It's been a blast watching these movies with you guys! My mom worked at Family Video when I was a kid, so we were constantly watching movies. There were movies that the whole family enjoyed - Lethal Weapon, Die Hard, Major League, Young Guns, etc. But my mom and I always had this soft spot for the old school Godzilla movies and would watch them together and have such a great time, and my brothers and sister just couldn't be bothered. It takes a certain mentality to enjoy those movies for what they are, I guess. But it was such a weird bonding thing for us, now that I think about it. Symbolic of some ethereal thing that keeps my mom and me closer in a way that I feel like my siblings missed out on, unfortunately. Watching these movies with you guys takes me back to those moments, when we would cheer when Godzilla bested whatever monster du jour was, or laughing when we spotted the zipper in a monster suit. You see the seams and the cracks (more in a narrative sense than a practical sense, these days, I suppose) but you're willing to just let it go and let the movie entertain you on its own terms. Respect.

The director said Godzilla was "nerfed" by the fight with Kong which led to him being almost completely out of energy when he fought MechaGodzilla. If Godzilla hadn't have fought Kong its speculated Godzilla would have beat MechaGodzilla on his own.

PepperJelly

Now that you're caught up, except the show, which you'd LOVE, you should get back to Lethal Weapon ☺️

sarCC

I hope Shin Godzilla is up next!

Ethan Kayne

"unobtainium" I absolutely loved core. Great reference. LOL

WhiteWolf

I'm guessing this years release of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will answer your questions.

Ludus Aurea

Agreed Shin Godzilla and Minus One when you can do so would be excellent. I'm about halfway through Monarch myself and loving it. Wyatt and Kurt playing the same character at different ages is awesome and it's made me like Wyatt much more as an actor - his role as CIAgent/Captain America made me dislike him before this.

Ludus Aurea

I believe it was Mechagodzilla 3 (not the actual title, but the third Mechagodzilla or maybe even the fourth - Godzilla against Mechagodzilla) where they actually used the skeleton of the original 1954 Godzilla who was killed in that universe, to build a new Mechagodzilla. So it's interesting that they introduced Mecha so soon in this continuity, but it makes sense that they used Ghidorah's skull. Agreed with the crticism though, I think they knew mecha would carry this entire movie and so they didn't care to develop the rest of it. Millie and Deadpool kid were kind of pointless POV characters just there to guide you by the hand through the Mecha/Apex plot and maintain some connection to the previous movie but neither Kyle Chandler nor Millie had any real role in the film. Kong's axe I'm about 99% sure came from the war between the Zilla's and the Kongs and was literally one of a Zilla's plates crafted into an axe.

Mister Lou

Loved watching this with you guys! really laughed and enjoyed your commentary.. but as usual, I have to disagree with your opinions on the human element of these movies, I feel like they come to the right about of ratio between them and the larger than life Titans.. I feel like it wouldn't work as well without amount of ratio between the two. just like the Transformers movies and/or the Pacific Rim movies. but just because we disagree, doesn't mean I won't revisit these in the future.

Ebony

I haven’t seen Shin Godzilla yet, but Godzilla minus one is one of my favorite movies ever! I went to see King of the monsters in 2021 on a whim and I’ve been a kaiju fan ever since.

TheMediaKnights

We cannot wait to watch "Minus One" We've been checking daily but still no news as to when it'll release.

TheMediaKnights

I hope they somehow introduce another member of the Gojira species. It'll be a cool concept but also not an easy thing to write in.

TheMediaKnights

Ah man! This warmed our hearts! It means the world to us that we get to entertain all of you and share these experience with you and also learn from your experiences with these films. Thank you!

TheMediaKnights

Ahh that makes sense! The dude was probably exhausted and he depleted quite a bit of radiation in that fight.

TheMediaKnights

Yup! Lethal Weapon is still on our list and we still absolutely love it so it'll definitely be coming soon.

TheMediaKnights

Good to hear someone else agrees with the axe being made out of a Gojira dorsal plate! Has this been confirmed yet by anybody? Because it could also be a clue of a potential previous alliance between the two species. Even though they were at war from what we know. I think It'll be interesting if they explained that his axe came from that alliance and thus Gojira and Kong were always meant to work together in a weird twist of fate. Also yes!! Mecha could've and should've carried an entire film. But I understand Legendary needed an out. After seeing how many Titans there are still roaming about they could've thrown anything at the two of them to make them come together!

TheMediaKnights

That's all good! We love hearing other perspectives and that is why different writers/directors and storytellers in general have a specific style. I don't necessarily have an issue with the ratio it's more about the quality of what we get with the time we spend with the humans. I think they absolutely nailed the monster side of things. Now time to polish the other elements. Always nice to hear from you!

sarCC

Wyatt is great in 22 Jump Street and Overlord. His performance in the latter made me a fan of his for life.

Ethan Kayne

Have you guys ever Ooooo. You guys should totally do that movie. Have you guys ever thought about doing the kingsman franchise? I found those movies quite enjoyable and I would love to see you guys react to those.

Dee

I wasn't a fan of the storyline with the teenagers and the shorting the computers with the alcohol. Cut all that and I would've been a lot happier with the movie. Not that I hated it, but don't rewatch it much because of it. Much love for Kong, but Godzilla is such a bad ass. Had to root for him.

TheMediaKnights

Agreed! Denise and I have been going over how we'd fix this script. We think that keeping Godzilla's behavior a mystery worked in a few ways but it hindered the film in others. We would've straight up focused on Serizawa's quest for revenge and how he's blinded by it. Open up act 1 with a Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla fight in the style of the first fight we got in "King of the Monsters" Obviously Godzilla would win this fight forcing Mechagodzilla to retreat and it's pilot Serizawa to now develop a solution (He needs more energy). That way right off the bat you set up Serizawa as a character with motivations and the true villain of this film. It doesn't take anything away from the film and gives us an interesting human to focus on. By the time we catch up with Kong we understand why Godzilla is visible irritable and now having to deal with Kong on top of everything makes his behavior have a bit more sense. By act 3 Serizawa gets the energy he needed and deploys Mechagodzilla to defeat Godzilla once and for all only to get hijacked mid fight by Ghidora's consciousness. Anyways just a slight adjustment that would've given one of these characters some depth and motivation!

Squ33ky

To be fair.. The Best Godzilla movies are him as a villain imo

Squ33ky

P.S. Godzilla was not attracted to MechaGodzilla but rather the Ghidorah ghost head used. This idea takes homage for when toho had mechagodzilla used with the old 1954 Godzilla bones that took control with his ghost like ghidorah did
