Idk if anyone has said it but Sanji's actor does his own stunts, he's crazy. He learned all these fighting moves, and he also had to learn how to cook for real, he cooked a bunch of times for the cast and crew during production.

Sanji’s actor is probably the most impressive in this cast you should watch some videos of his training his names taz Skylar when I tell you he trained intenselyyyyy in fighting AND cooking I mean it he’s insanely dedicated

When the OPLA cast got revealed, everyone was chill with the casting except for Sanjis. They all hated him cuz his face didn’t match. He trained one year in kickboxing/culinary classes for the role and is now easily one of the best castings in the show 🔥

Taz Skylar is actually incredible. He trains his body past his limits all the time to do all his own stunts and he even took cooking classes just for this role. He puts his all into everything.

I could NOT stand anime Sanji, he was always my least favourite of the straw hat crew due to obvious reasons but live action Sanji ? He has my heart. I was going into this not expecting much from him but I’m glad that was not the case. He’s my favourite character in the live action so far, his actor and the live action script actually makes him charming. Taz Skylar was so determined to play Sanji & do him justice that he not only learned how to cook like a chief but also took Taekwondo lessons and even got his black belt too. He had no martial arts or cooking experience prior to him getting the role. He went all out. Mihawk is also really cool in live action

agreed mckay. I hated garp in the live action. they turned him into such a cheesy character and hes annoying. Mihawk was cool and looks exactly like the anime. i just dindt like that they made him act like a lap dog for the government when the real mihawk does whatever he wants unless he really has to.

I feel like one thing to consider with some of the changes (especially garp and the marines) is that they had no guarentee of any future seasons so they couldn’t wait like the anime/manga to introduce some of the themes and had to get people hooked in one season. I think for what they had to work with the cram this all in in 8 episodes they did amazingly

The voice isn’t good/fitting for mihawk though, was very unnecessary, could have just had him talk like how the actor normally does but with a deeper stoic voice. I also don’t think Garp would work with the warlords like that or condone the system. He’s always tried to stay as distant from the corrupt aspects of the Marines as much as possible(in the anime/manga).

Yes Cannon is correct, in the anime Don Kreig and his crew escapes to the east blue after being attacked by Mihawk in the grand line, Mihawk follows them to Baratie to finish the job, becuase he was bored lol.

Great discussion! I agree with what Carter/Jack said about Garp for sure. I have some qualms with how they handle Garp, but I also like some of the stuff they do with him as well, and one of my favorite scenes coming up involves him. I hate that they spoiled the grandpa reveal this early though, but I get it. I know a lot of people have this episode as their favorite, but Episode 8 is my personal favorite. I go back and forth between liking this episode and Episode 7 more

That Zoro line of him promising never to lose again was the only truly bad acting in the show to me. Everything else while campy has been really good/fun, but that just fell so flat lol. The actor for Zoro just can’t show any emotion lol
