Dandadan is going for that 2000+ chapters one piece length. It has the goofy moments, food celebrations, deep dark back stories, and a huuuuuge cast. Trust me when I say yall are only in the “east blue” of the show. Imagine world building with multi-dimension beings/planets. It’s one piece but with good pacing.

The problem with 12 episodes seasons for dandadan is that they finished the 2 seasons not with an arc finale but with an arc beginning. I know it's on purpose, but maybe I like the traditional way better. Anyway, next season is probably one of the best peaks of anime! Ty for watching this peak with us, Geks!!

manga reader here, season 2 ends on chapter 71 just a little ways into volume 9. we have covered 6 arcs so far, the next arc (singular) (probably considered to be the best arc so far) ends with volume 14 and is 50 chapters.

Now, I'm debating if I should go back and continue reading, or wait and stay as anime-only 🤔 IT'S TOO GOOD!

The only reason that season 1 and 2 were released so close together is because it was originally meant to be a 24 episode season but it was split into two cours. So now the gap between what's technically season 2 and season 3 will be the same as a normal anime instead of the 6 months that we had between the first two. The studio are working on their remake of Ghost in the Shell and will be focusing on that as far as I'm aware at the minute.

McKay I 100% would not use this as a starter anime, if you really sit and think about season 1, the first episode is momo literally about to be sexually assaulted by aliens. I feel like stuff like the gooner side of anime and little bits of fan service etc, are only something you can really start to ignore or appreciate once you've got quite a few under your belt and get the jist of what anime is like. Starting with something like this is what tends to put people off anime and makes them think it's weird, especially with all the snippets of underage nudity in season 1 💀😂 I totally understand what you mean though in terms of the show having literally everything, such as romance, fighting, action, aliens, ghosts, the supernatural, kaiju, meccas, literally everything you can think of is included in the show which makes it a good all rounded show and so many people definitely have missed out by judging it in the first few episode of season 1 and dropping it.

You really should pick up the manga, the next arcs are even better than what’s been animated so far I really can’t recommend it enough if you want to jump straight to the manga from here start chapter 72!

It’ll definitely be a long wait until season 3 but it might be a longer season than just 12 episodes as some of the production team hinted that they might fully adapt the next arc which has more chapters than they’ve animated in a single season (the next arc is 46 chapters long compared to the 36 chapters adapted in season 1 and the 35 in season 2) so fingers crossed for that 🤞🙏

Although I kinda wish that the season adapted just one more chapter to leave off with less of a cliff hanger I think it’s worth it in the long run because they’ve done such a great job adapting the source material and even adding on to it with so much anime original content along it made me so happy seeing the volume extra where Okarun turns Jiji back to normal and bring the kaiju with them to the house animated and makes me so excited for seeing some of the other fun volume extras get adapted!

I really like that they tied the ending of season 1 episode one where the ufo explodes behind momo when Okarun tells her his name (when momo first develops feelings for him) with the ending of this season by adding the house exploding in the background (RIP Aira) after she sees the alien girl kiss Okarun

One last thing you guys should really check out some more mecha anime I’d kill to see you guys watch gurren Lagan it also inspires dandadan a bit so it would be fun to see you catch the references if you watch it before season 3
