I have a friend who only reads the books because he prefers the edited versions over the weekly releases, he's very hyped with book 3 being out! I'm hyped because I can finally talk with him about the ruins.

Not all of the courses in the schedule have the level mentioned (novice and etc.). Is it on purpose or just a mistake?

I think he can store 5 elements, but he chooses which ones. So if he has access to a lot of earth, he can choose to store other elements instead. It makes sense that he stores the element he may need that day in advance etc.

Is this chapter's tittle supposed to be ironic? I don't see the virtu of persisting in a class with an adversarial teacher, for a skill of negligible value, for which you can't spare the skill slots, while being on the verge of burning out... This course is a wash and Kai needs a good slap to wake up.

Thanks for the chapter! i might be beating a dead horse but I still think Kai should drop Words of Power and Arcane Physiology & Phenomena. Neither of them seem all that valuable for his skill set and it’s obvious that he’s struggling to keep up with all these classes. But on the other hand, I lowkey want him to continue taking this class just to spite this asshole professor 😆 hope he complains to Jolene although I doubt this is the first time this has happened and that people haven’t complained. If this issue still continues despite that, I don’t know what she’d be able to do about it.

I just hope he drops the course. He has none of the needed skills or background and bashing his head against a wall of an unhelpful professor, when he's already burning out like 2 days into the semester...

This is good because now he can drop the class. It is out of hiis field anyway, he dooesnr have any Skills for it nor does he have room for it. Point of his education should be to push his strenghts where they couldnt get on their own and then he can brush up on his weaknesses when he is Green

Jolene recommended he drop 4 classes, he only droped 2. Maybe he can get away with droping only 3,, but he should drop besides Word of Powe, Arcane Physiology & Phenomena as well

What can he gain from the classes with a professor that won't answer his questions that he cant gain on his own from reading the books? He's just spending time on their class that can be better used elsewhere. If he would give himself a few minutes to actually think it would be obvious which two classes to drop.

While I think the other commenters have a good point about him dropping that class, I think the bigger thing for me is a moment where Kai sort of reflects once again on his priorities, like what does he want out of this education in the end?Perhaps being so focused on being hyper efficient has made him lose sight of the bigger picture. It was a mandatory course in a previous chapter as well so it is probably not a mistake. And idk, id say mages having a course about runes and enchantments makes a lot of sense, its a shared interest of both fields

While I see people's point in dropping the class or a few. I prefer Kai staying the course with a full course load. And I would like to kindly point out all of Kai's teachers have a chanting skill/or language for words of Power. Which is probably something Kai will consider and make him push through the class. Plus this is more like a prep school before College. True specialization doesn't happen until Green. How can you narrow down (School)Classes or Skills before you know or find the synergies you want? I can definitely see people hitting Green with too narrow of a base to progress to Blue. And we have yet to find out what is required for Indigo or Voilet. We just have to remember that Elijah pointed out why they didn't give him a path in combining skills. Instead we should be looking at what we think might be Ideal skill combinations for Kai

As much as I love the magic academy setting, it’s kind of painful to read these last few chapters. Every chapter is a single class and we’re introduced to so many characters and classes that I physically cannot care about most of them. Not to mention literally 0 time for personal interactions or character growth. Kai’s barely spoken to Rain or Flynn in 20 chapters, more if we only count a personal conversation. And then every chapter is Kai being stressed over his ridiculous course load. I feel like this would be so much better paced if you just allowed a time skip. Let Kai take all of these classes over a couple of semesters/seasons. Give things room to breathe

It's 100% because you're reading one chapter at a time, dripped to you at a relatively slow pace. I was kind of feeling the same thing to a lesser extent, reread the entire academy arc so far, and it's far smoother and more enjoyable. IMO none of the issues you mentioned stood out when read together, rather than piecemeal.

Jesus christ this is getting ridiculous. Please drop the useless class already, at the very least he shouldn't be taking chants as it serves no purpose. And the continued decision paralysis needs to be worked on, for the love of all that's holy.
