DBZ YR Prelude (Patreon)

This was a surprisingly difficult story to start. I haven't really watched any of the new stuff since the tournament arc of SUPER so I tried to make the story based on something that isn't clearly talked about in the story. Turns out the new villain they're fighting is a magician and I was like 8 hours into constantly rechecking if everything worked like it did in the manga before I said fuck it. I'd rather have fun writing the story than be perfectly accurate. I had a smile the entire time I wrote chapter 5.5 after I decided to not take it too seriously.

The story will be my most softcore one on here for a while with fade to black scenes. It's more Ecchi with a small harem for a long time. The first five chapters are pretty much getting to the actual plot which will be more comedy and talking than action. He has three girlfriends and most of the enemies he'll fight later in the stories will be side characters or brand new threats that get 'feminized' by his magic.

Think Raditz but when Roshi shows up to help he becomes a she. If I do movies Garlic Jr. might have a female subordinate. The OG villains will be mainly women and that brought up another thing I noticed when I was looking into research. Dragon Ball Z has no female villains until Android 18. That doesn't change until Super either. I picked the three women that kind of made sense to end up with him and most from that point will be original or from Super.

So another thing you might notice. He learns magic extremely fast compared to other fiction. That is just the way Dragon Ball works. Goku knows how to read minds, and all of them have shown some telepathic ability. Oolong and Puar learn how to shape shift in a year-long kindergarten-style class so I figure if someone is actually focused on learning it would take less time than that.

The only mention we got of how long they normally take is the Kamehameha wave which took 50 years to make but Goku learned it just by seeing it once. It took Goku less than 6 months to learn the spirit bomb and kaio-ken while also training to beat the Saiyans. I think while I love Dragon Ball it was a pioneer of its time and many things would have been done differently if it was made from scratch.

I think I remember Toriyama saying he made a mistake with power levels and then just scrapped them because they were getting too ridiculous. I think I'm going to kind of ignore them as well, except for people massively underestimating Roshi because he can punch way the fuck above his power level.

The candy beam worked on Vegito and was only undone by Buu otherwise he'd still be candy. Magic/Divine energy is an equalizer that can beat people a million times stronger than themselves.
